  1. How about instead of replacing EVERY window in the train station, maybe every other one and bricking up the others? Yes I know, I'm narrow minded and the train station will pay long term dividends long after the next Bronco is forgotten. My grandkids will enjoy the dividends generated because of all the brilliant minds that will flock to Ford to work in that magnificent structure.?

  2. I'm seeing pop up adds for Chevy Colorado @ $179 per month! That's the best indication of the Ranger's production schedule I've seen

  3. I'm pretty sure anything with longitude engine and 10 speed auto will be available with hybrid eventually down the road. That was the whole reason for aligning every mid to large size vehicles with F-150 drivetrain development. If Ford is going to sell a F-150 hybrid, then it will pay the bills for an Explorer, Mustang, Transit, Bronco, Ranger, Bronco hybrid too. And maybe also an Edge hybrid depending on where the next get goes. What I'm thinking is that Ford is going to slow-trot a lot of the hybrid models until F-150 hybrid is printing money. F-150 hybrid is the volume model that will lower the cost for every other model. In the early going, you will only see hybrid on select high MSRP applications like Aviator GT or Mustang GT where Ford is not as exposed on marginal costs of the hybrid component. But once F-150 hybrid plows the rest of the field, you will see hybrid everything with every engine.

  4. As much as I'm annoyed with Ford's apparently inability to control the releases of its own product news lately, I'm also disappointed that every Bronco rumor goes from zero to ridiculous assumption in about one second. It's gonna be a mid-sized, off-road focused SUV with 300-ish hp. As much as I'm a member of the "save the manuals" club, a good auto isn't a deal breaker. I also have no real opinion on a hybrid version, as I wouldn't be likely to buy that variant.

  5. The 500 was grotesquely homely but had great rear seat room. The Taurus that followed looks much better but has poor interior room utilization considering the exterior dimensions. With the demise of Cadillac's luxury sedans, Lincoln has an opportunity that they have never had before. I didn't expect the coach door Conti to get as much positive press or favorable comments from current Lincoln owners as it has. It would certainly be cool to see them offer a REAL luxury sedan based on the CD6 at some point. I find it sad to think that there will only be a viable market for utilitarian appliances, trucks or sports cars.

  6. Too much inventory will lead to rebates which cuts profitability. It’s usually better to underproduce slightly. Adding volume without adding profit is a waste.

  8. It's disappointing to me if this is true. They hybrid was at the top of my list of Bronco considerations.

  9. All of this traces back to The Mullet and the stupid idea to reveal the plan for the Bronco far too early in its development - a decision that was driven by having very little to show at NAIAS and having a piss poor plan for what was shown. If they had kept the Bronco on the down low for a couple more years (even just one more year) it would have helped them quite a bit.

  10. The stupid part is announcing Bronco 3 years before it debuts and talking about powertrains 2 years early.

  12. A bit of perspective. There's nothing to suggest that Ford is about to chop the guts out of what it refers to internally as a Ford brand Iconic vehicle (like Mustang). I think some are reading way too much into this as a Hybrid Bronco would be hard to justify, especially with relatively ow gas prices. If it has has been scrapped, it's because Ford thinks that very few people would have bought it

  13. Let me get this straight. You're basing your assumption on a unsubstantiated rumor for a vehicle nobody's ever seen, much less driven. Only on BON.

  15. There is no current Courier. Ford stopped selling a Fiesta based pickup truck about 6 years ago. This new truck is substantially bigger, more like a Transit Connect truck.

  16. That's not the only thing that might be getting canned thought... That said I think they would sell more manual transmission Broncos than they would Focus and Fiesta. Probably a similar mix as Mustang if I had to guess, provided they didn't neuter it and limit it to the lowest trim level.

  17. Seriously though - does anyone think developing a manual Bronco (especially if it’s not going ROW) is a smart investment?

  20. You can complain that it’s a stupid test. You can complain that the metrics become harder and that’s unfair. The fact is safety is high on consumer shopping lists and if Ford chooses not to update and get good marks it will fail to gain those vehicle shoppers as customers. Its like complaining to the teacher you aced basic mathematics but failed calicus and that’s unfair because you did great before; never mind the parameters changed. You were told the parameters were changing years ago yet chose to do nothing to improve.

  21. Also to the smart ass who said let them look at the world out the window... either A) you don't have kids or B) you had kids but you smacked them around to keep them quiet... ?

  22. I didn't make this... I just found it on the internet. Improvement? Maybe? ?

  23. I'm seriously doubting this now. I'm hearing whispers that the Bronco project is falling victim to serious cost cutting and that certain drivetrains are on the chopping block because of it.
