  1. Ford's IT Department has been doing its usual, exceptional job lately with Dealers having extremely limited access to the FMCDealer.com portal since Thursday afternoon. Ford has a Business Continuity Document PDF that provides direct access to specific applications but even using this is troublesome right now. For example, it is impossible to access the SMART Weekly Order Management or WBDO (Web Based Dealer Order) links. As such, I've not been able to access information for my Production Week Scheduling Timetable report. It's anyone's guess if they're working on the problem over the weekend but as soon as access is restored I'll upload the information for next week's vehicle scheduling.

  3. The build week for my Nautilus starts in two days! Let's hope they can get it done and shipped before they shut down for a week. Sure would be a nice Christmas present.

  4. But Vignale doesn't seem to be very appealing in Europe. In the end of the day it is a Ford and people think twice before paying the extra. A separate brand could add value. And VW has been able to mantain similar products in different price tiers, throughout the brands.

  5. You missed a few weeks of the Production Week Scheduling Timetable. The plant should only be down the week of 12/24. MKZ scheduling last week was for the build weeks 01/28/2019 & 02/04/2019.

  6. Hi 1984poke. In my opinion...you are overthinking and worried about nothing. It doesn't take a "few days to get back into the groove". Plus, you can hope all you want, but unless you cancel your current order and place it again later, it will be built when it is built. And yes, I know about the old "You don't want a car built on a Monday or Friday" types sayings/advice. But that is an old saying. Concerning your build weeks questions. The week of 12/17 begins on a Monday and runs through Saturday, 12/22 (or whatever day the Christmas holiday begins). So we are actually only discussing a shutdown of approximately 3 weeks. Plus, as ice-capades has discussed, there have been problems with the ordering system, so we may have incomplete information. I understand your anticipation and anxiety, but you'll be much happier if you can relax and stop worrying so much. I hope your shiny new MKZ comes as quickly as possible. Good luck. ?

  7. Ford is generating invoices for Ranger's in production but has posted a notice that Window Stickers will not be generated until fuel economy testing is completed and the final MPG ratings are available. FORD STATEMENT The availability of the 2019 Ford Ranger online Monroney Label has temporarily been disabled to allow for the final Fuel Economy data to be correctly represented on all documents. We anticipate that access to these online window stickers will continue to be disabled through December 10, 2018. This will impact access through both the Vehicle Locator application and the links provided to your Dealer web sites. Our team will provide updates regarding the availability of these online window stickers as information regarding their release is received.

  8. No, because that is normal wear and not a defective product. I know you really don’t believe that is a comparable example.

  11. I’ve told this story before. I lived in Dearborn when I was a kid and my dad was a engineer who worked at Ford. He was given a “company car” to drive back-and-forth to work in. Back in the summer of 1957, he brought home a two-seat T-Bird for the weekend. EVERYBODY on the block came by for a look and for a test drive. Even the few GM and Chrysler engineers in the area came by for a look. This car, especially with the top down, was a sensation. Briefly, for one weekend, I was the coolest kid on the block.

  12. It's not something you'd notice in everyday driving. I just really came to appreciate the big open leg area after a couple cross country trips in the town car.

  13. It's telling that in all of Hackett's discussions, I don't think he's ever mentioned quality or best n class. I think fit and fitness is Hackett's code for cheap and cheapness, so when he talks about making Ford fit....

  15. Wow! Did you read the second paragraph in that Reuters GM article that selling heavy duty trucks translates or trickles down to tons of smaller vehicle sales!!?? That's what I've been saying for 10 years now!
