Contrary point of view, the front end is the vehicle's most redeeming feature. It has personality, something that has been sorely lacking in many Ford vehicles as of late.

I really like it, and I am probably more likely to buy the Maverick than the Bronco. I have a bad feeling the Bronco is going to be really expensive. Nonetheless, Ford should sell the Bronco for as much as they can get for it.

My post was related to scheduling but I think the attached list of scheduled plant "Down Weeks" will answer your question. The information is from last week's FDNB (Fleet Distribution News Bulletin) and is mostly related to fleet orders in regard to priority codes and OTD (Order to Delivery) times which are much longer for fleet orders. The "OK to Buy" status has been achieved for the 2019 F-150's. Retail orders will start scheduling on Thursday, 11/15/2018.

If someone had posted a pic of a Ford or GM burned like that it would have gotten the same reaction. I think it's a great story regardless of the brand and I'm 100% sure the other truck mfrs would have done the same thing. Although I don't quite understand the hero aspect. He tried to flee the hospital but got turned back by the fire. It wasn't like he had patients in the truck and drove them through the fire to safety.

Well Ford won't ever say it outright unless it's part of a larger stop sale due to a recall or something like that. Generally if it's sitting at the plant for a while and it's status hasn't moved to "awaiting shipment" it means it's either been built and needs a repair right off the line or in some cases, it might be held for something else. Its a lot harder to tell with Mustangs though because if you ordered stripes it takes extra time for those to be pained (it's sent to another building on site after assembly for stripes) and when dealers look it up on the tracking page it just shows up as "produced". There's also the fact that for whatever reason the Flat Rock Plant is notorious for unexplained shipping delays. I was helping a guy with his Lincoln Continental literally all summer. It was sitting and nobody on any level could figure out why.

I find it very interesting people whos cars finished before mine or same day are held up. But I got my GT Premium PP2.

I have a 2019 Mustang GT Fastback (#300A, Automatic, Ford Safe & Smart, Active Valve Performance Exhaust) that was ordered for dealer stock and reported as "Produced" via Vehicle Visibility as of 10/03/2018. I contacted Ford's BAC (Business Assistance Center) on 11/06/2018 and received the following reply... We have identified the unit in question is affected by a plant hold. Projected timing for release of this vehicle is 11/02/2018 at the earliest while another hold has yet to have a release date established. This date indicates when the vehicle may be released from the plant, but is subject to change. Note that I contacted the BAC on 11/06/2018 and they said that the projected release date was 11/02/2018. I contacted the BAC again this morning and received the following reply... We have identified the unit in question is affected by a plant hold. Projected timing for release of this vehicle is TBD. The BAC never gives information on the reason(s) for a plant hold. Unfortunately, plant holds are all too common for the Mustang in addition to the usual shipping issues out of the Flat Rock plant. My Mustang Demo was sold about three weeks ago and I was going to wait for this car to drive but am now driving a leftover 2018 Mustang EcoBoost. I'm not exactly sure where the Maverick is positioned but I know it was being developed off of Fiesta mules so although it's probably C-Segment sized I'm not entirely sure it's C-Segment based. I still think it's going to be positioned as a cheaper alternative to Escape that competes more closely with the new Trax, Compass, and Renegade (all of which are based on B-Segment architectures). I think that would make some sense, otherwise you're just selling an Escape with an alternative appearance and prevents you from competing more directly with the volume competitors. EcoSport is getting a replacement around 2022 which is also getting a pick-up version. Chevy also adding a smaller utility to be positioned beneath the new larger and more expensive Trax. So I think the Big 3 will each have 2 vehicles in these entry level segments. Either way I don't think Maverick has the potential to be the volume seller, it has a relatively eccentric personality like the Renegade. But if they can sell 8,000 units a month, that would be pretty decent.

ice-capades, would that break in production apply to the Hermosillo plant in Mexico ??, too? (As far as that goes, would that break apply to production in Canada ??, as well?) I’ll admit to being more interested in the question about production in Hermosillo than Ontario, given that I’ve placed an order for an MKZh that would be built there, but now I’m curious about production breaks: Would a Thanksgiving break occur across all North American Ford plants, or only the Ford plants in the US of A? Also, does the same sort of thing happen at Christmas? Sorry for the questions but I’ve come to really respect your in-depth knowledge on these topics and really appreciate the time you put in to educating those of us who don’t work in the industry but have an interest in it.
