I went and got a replacement filter for my 2009 Escape with the 3.0 engine. The folks at the car parts store gave me a flat, rectangular filter, a lot like what my 2006 Escape had. I get home and go to put it in. The filter inside the air cleaner box is round, with a hole on one end that fits onto a large tube going from the box to the engine. The owner's manual and ever web site says the filter I need is the flat one. But there is no way to install that. Any suguestions?
