  1. Does anyone know if this engine knock issue/TSB has beed resolved on the 2010 models ?? The TSB says 2009 but I was just wondering......
  2. Well, after reading.... I HAVE THIS ISSUE !!! That sucks !!!! So now I get to play cat and mouse with the dealer and have them rebuild the top end of a brand new engine.... If they will even acknowledge the problem..... What a mess !!!! No more Fords for me and its a shame because I love them !!!!! Has anyone had this TSB performed ??? How did it go ????
  3. I dont believe we are talking about the same thing... The sound doesnt appear to be coming from the heads area, possibly underneith, maybe from exaust ot cat converter area.... I would like to read the TSB that you are referring to if you have it or know a link to it...
  4. I have a 09 Escape V6.. Great little ride, no tranny issues so far.. After driving at highway speeds for a short period of time, if you stop at a light and the engine idles, it almost has a diesel type sound to it, like a popping.. its not extremely loud but I thought it was rather odd.. You dont notice it if the radio is on.. Has anyone else noticed this.. Im sure its probably normal...just wondering ??????
  5. Update...I called the parts dept and had them look it up. You are correct the FL820s was WRONG. It should have been the FL 500 He transfered me back to the service advisor, after being on hold for a while he came back on the phone and asked me to bring it back in that they had made a mistake. The ONLY reason I caught it was I had been reading this forum. 99 out of a 100 people would have never known. The Service manager told me that the filters were nearly identical that the canister size was slightly different probably to allow less pooling in the filter and that it really wouldnt have hurt anything. Thats not the point. I cant believe the DEALER would make such a mistake. I will be changing my own oil from now on, even if it costs the same. It is hard to trust anyone with your vehicle these days.... Has anyone done their own on the V6 ??? Is the filter hard to get to etc ????
  6. I just returned from the dealer for my first oil change. They used a FL 820 SB12 filter. Is this correct ? I was under the impression that there was a new model filter for the 09 3.0 V6.... Should I be concerned ????
  7. It also keeps up with time. My message says "oil change required" now..it only has 2600 miles but Ive had the vehicle 6 months... Good feature in my opinion
  8. Is this really an issue for many ??? Nearly all the posts I have read, people are tickled with the new transmission......What does the recall/TSB say is the problem and solution ????

Mine was turned a little to the left..the vehicle tracked fine, just the steering wheel was off a little and I am quite picky about these things...they told me when I bought it that Ford pays for one alignment on all new vehicles.....they have common issues from the car carriers chaining them down during transit that can throw it off... I just make an appointment and told them the steering wheel wasn't straight, they touched up the alignment and all was good... I have had several new vehicles that the steering wheel was off a little and have never had a problem getting the dealer to correct it... I have noticed that this vehicle is very sensitive to road crowns and banking..In other words, if I drive right down the center of the white line, the steering wheel is perfectly straight, if I am in the right lane, it is still turned to the left just a tad, if Im in the left lane, it will be off to the right just a tad, just a characteristic of this vehicle...Its not a problem...

Mine does EXACTLY the same thing, it's at about 43 mph from a cold start after first starting the vehicle...its the ABS / traction control setting itself, it is even mentioned in the owners manual that this is normal..there is nothing wrong with your escape, its just a side effect of the high tech safety features of the vehicle..

All I know is the ring volume is "Way TOO loud " and there is no way to set it lower, you can turn it down once its ringing, but the next time it rings it scares the crap out of you, dont have a sleeping child in the car when it rings, it makes for much unhappiness .... I read in the sync forum that there is no way to resolve this in the non-nav escapes with SYNC...hopefully the new firmware will correct this..has anyone had the new firmware installed ????
  13. I too have that slight vibration in the gas pedal at that speed, I figured it to be something like was mentioned above....I didnt realize it was in the owners manual....where ???
  14. 1800 miles on mine (V6 6sp)...Only issue was the steering wheel was off center...alignment fixed that..Anyone who complains about the shifting of the new tranny should drive the previous 4-speed, they will then realize the huge improvement..... As for the "flare" complaint..Over the years, with many different vehicles, once in while I have encountered an erratic shift...when the RPMs and speed are just right ant tranny may "slip/flare" just a little or even shift harder than you feel like it should. I was going to purchase last spring and waited for the 09 drivetrain upgrades and am extremely glad I did.... Has anyone else with the V6 had any issues ????
