  1. I did a 400 dollar lifetime renew, I hope it pans out for me, one more reason not to swap vehicles so freely.
  2. This going to be a shock as to what the problem is, but believe me, it most likey is this. The seal that runs that entire circumference of your liftgate is causing the noise, after close to a year of you washing and wiping, and normal evaporation, the rubber seal has dried out some. This dry rubber on a metal surface, with the characteristics of the way a liftgate has some side-sway and movement is causing this noise. Having an Electric vehicle, being quieter makes you notice it all the more, but is a characteristic of all vehicles with liftgates, SUV's and Minivans alike. Fix is simple, a light lubrication of the rubber seal-- Vaseline or WD-40 will work fine, Ford actually has a part number for rubber seal lubricant, but should not be necessary to spend money on it. Give it a try, should be about a 3 minute fix in your driveway, you will know instantly whether it worked or not.
  3. Well I'm still very happy with my results, though way short of what you guys are doing. Vehicle has 14,500 miles on it in 9 months of daily, winter was a killer on mileage but expected. Since May, I think combo of warm weather and a broke in motor, along with full synthetic in the engine has helped alot. Get around 34-36 for my driving, computed with the In dash unit, so I know its about 3 % high. Past weekend, played around some not in a hurry, had about 1.5 hours of some stop and go country-style, roads marked at 45-55 mph. Did max 50, alot of 40-45.................... Ended up with a reading of 42 MPG on the Nav screen. So I'm happy, I used to drive a vehicle that gave me a combined 18 for my typical routes, and have almost doubled that, granted, the 18 was in a Hemi, and this ain't no Hemi.
  4. Odd, I filed it on the 12th and got my DCN back today, the 13th as accepted thru Tax Act
  5. Fusion people are going to be taking the first hit on this one hard, they are qualified for 3400 in credit, but that gets cut in half April 1st, so before they are even out its down to 1700 max thanks to us Escape people. Side note, Tac Act is updated and I filed today, 3-12-09
  6. Got a personal email from TaxAct today and they have the updated form and will have it in their program by the end of the week.
  7. Mine came it at 1959 on TaxAct though thats preliminary, still waiting on final version from IRS, could go up or down , who knows.
  8. Friend of mine has a 2007 AMG Mercedes with Nav unit, it allows use of Nav but on start-up you have to answer questions Yes/No with touch screen, I think 3, to acknowledge that you are participating in a dangerous act willfully, and removing Mercedes from liability. His wifes older BMW does same thing, so it is possible with enough question/answer sessions on the screen. Its all about liabilty in the end, and protecting the company from frivilous suits, not that they do not want to give people what they want.
  9. Got a personal email from TAXACT last night stating that revisions are being made due to Obama's proposal and form is absolutely not available yet, and that program will be updated ASAP
  10. I'm starting to think there may be a logic to the delay, considering the stimulus plan includes car incentives, and the credit could be enhanced for green cars. They have already put in the stimulus plan that you can deduct sales and excise tax on all vehicles purchased on or after 11-12-08 until 12-31-09, so any car purchased late in the would qualify. I purchased 10-15 so I missed that one, anyone know how they came up with that date (11-12) anyway ?
  11. TAXACT program still does not have final version of form 8910 for TY2008 as of 2-13-09
  12. I checked the IRS.GOV website over the weekend and the form is still not released for TY2008, it is not your programs fault, it is the inept governments fault that the form is not released yet. I am in same boat as you, completely processed with TAXACT and cannot proceed until this form is finalized.
  13. Yes I am using TaxAct.com also, and noticed they gave 3 drop-down choices when there should only be 2. I picked the one that gave the 3000 max credit option, which I do have a FWD, the other choices gave 0 and 2300 max credits. Looks as though I will be able to finalize by end of this week.
