  1. Thanks for the reply. I looked and do not have a separate Scheduled Maintenance Booklet. The scheduled maintenance is included in the "2009 Ford Escape Hybrid" manual. It has specific references to the hybrid so I assumed (I know what happens when you assume) everything included was specific to the hybrid. That all being said, if anyone has any info regarding the recommended interval for transmission fluid change on the 2009 Ford Escape Hybrid that would be appreciated. I am taking the vehicle in for regular maintenance later this week and since it is not an inexpensive procedure to be performed (especially every 30K miles) I thought I would do a little research first.
  2. What is the recommended miliage/months for a transmission fluid change/flush for a 2009 Escape Hybrid. There is nothing in the manual under the scheduled maintenance section (which I thought was strange). I saw something online that implied you should change at 30,000 miles which seemed quite low to me. My 2004 Chevy Malibu is scheduled at 150,000 miles (currently has 130,000 miles on it and runs perfectly). If it is 30,000, why does it need to be changed so often. Any help would be appreciated.
  3. The cold did an number on my mileage also. A little warmth has had a huge impact on mileage - with mid 50's this weekend I averaged between 36-40 mpg in mostly city driving.
  4. E-file (it was free with Turbo Tax) and ACH deposit. Worked nicely.
  5. I received my refund on Friday. No problems with IRS accepting and processing the current "version" of this form. Frankly, i am not sure why the hold up on putting "final" on this form as there is nothing in the Obama stimulus that will change what we received for our credit.
  6. My printed form from Turbo tax is for 2008 (printed in upper right hand and lower right hand corner). 2007 does not show up on the form anywhere. Not sure why the IRS site would not have the updated form yet. My refund is expected to be deposited this coming Friday.
  7. I don't know if this will make you feel any better but I believe the deduction is for cars purchased after the bill went into law (or it was passed) i.e. sometime in February 2009 through December 31, 2009. It didn't make me feel any better but for those that thought they could get a deduction for something purchased prior to February 2009 may be out of luck.
  8. I e-filed last night and my return was accepted by the IRS this morning. I should have my refund next week. I am using Turbo Tax. Not sure why another software would not have updated their forms yet.
  9. Does anyone have updated information on an exact date the Fiesta will hit U.S. showrooms??
  10. One reason you may not be getting the credit is because you are in an Alternative Minimum Tax (aka AMT) position. You should get at least a portion of the credit until line 35 is equal to line 34 on Form 6251. You can also check this by looking at Form 6251 line 36 and on line 45 on Form 1040. If these lines don't show you oweing AMT, you may want to have someone look your return over. I was limited to a couple hundred bucks but I knew that going into the purchase - I actually thought I would get zero, so two hundreds bucks was a bonus. Good luck.
  11. We have had this "issue" with all of our cars with back up sensors. Its not that big of a deal (only a couple of feet) and actually makes you pay attention more when you back out of the garage. I never thought of it as a problem, it gave me comfort to know they were working. Good luck.
  12. I have the bike rack for the class III already but am in the market for a hitch mounted platform/cargo carrier. Anyone have any recommendations?
  13. I picked up my new vehicle today and am very impressed. Got about 30 mpg combo highway (70 mph cruise control) and city for about 60 miles thus far. I assume I will do better as it breaks in. I have read that some think the FEH is somewhat loud. I have to admit that thought did cross my mind also but I think part of it might be you get used to the silence when in electric mode and then when the ICE kicks on (seemlessly I might add) it just seems louder - just a thought. I would say that it seems "loudest" at 2000 RPM's - not sure if anyone else notices this at that RPM level. I have not seen a post on cargo/luggage space here before so I will offer my two cents for those of you who care. The FEH cargo area will fit easily 3 large suitcases, two small suitcases and a small cooler with room to spare. Plenty of space for a family of 4 on a weeks cross country vaca. It also fits golf clubs nicely as well.
  14. I got word from the dealer my FEH Limited arrived today. I took it for a test drive (had 6 miles on it). Very nice. Sweet how the engine cuts when stopped and seemless going between electric and ICE. I will pick it up tomorrow. Official order date: April 22, Official purchase date: October 22 - exactly 6 months.
