  1. Plenty of 07 Fairlane LWB cabs running around in Perth WA, Problem is cab leases only last 5 years, What happens then?....my guess LWB GM Statesman/Caprice or 300c Well done euro-Ford
  2. So true Falcon is going to a 4cyl next year, Plain and simple neglect for prior flagships.
  3. Hopefully, As the years go by...people will now respect the 80-82 Birds
  4. Back to the topic, No... Ford, simply can't bounce back from the demise of the panther. Laugh all you will about the crude limo conversions, the poor people who want a rwd large car and the apparent non profitable police market. What do we have in Australia now that Ford pulled the plug on the LWB Fairlane/LTD? Chrysler 300c Holden Statesman/Caprice....oh,hang on...your next cop cruiser! Ford in Australia CREATED the LWB segment, and like the Crown Vic/Marquis let the once proud nameplate suffer in neglect with a new grill here and there and a re skin with left over Falcon funds and wondered where the buyers went. I feel for those who miss the panther, and obviously it's not just the US who suffer the same Ford mentality when it comes to large RWD sedans. As said before, I will not buy a NEW Ford product again, until I can go into my local dearlership and buy a RWD Fairlane/lLTD And by the looks of it, I won't be in a Ford dealership again.
  5. Ummm.... You are getting exited about a Transit? As about exciting as a Mondeo... Things must be going pretty bad in the US if a 'postal' van gets a mention
  6. My fiddy cence worth :hyper: I own a 80 T-Bird Silver Anniversary,,,, Sure, It looks like a chrome plated brick, but hey I love it! :happy feet:
  7. Why the sudden interest in the Transit? In Australia theTransit has been available for years.... The only regular customers being the post and mail pick up and delivery driver. The Transit rarely gets to civilian markets due to lack of interest and it's boerdom factor. Sorry,I just can't understand the hype.
  8. With all the focus around the Crown Vic, Where does this leave the Towncar? A long time soldier of the limosine and cut and shut brigade. Anybody have any recent sales figures? Love it or hate it, the Towncar has quite a bit of history and it just seems strange that Ford is going to walk away from the LWB luxury market.
  9. Hell, send them to us in Australia With no LWB Fairlane or LTD on the market Ford has handed the large luxury market to the Holden Statesman/Caprice and the Chrysler 300c. Even a Towncar would be better than nothing
  10. Spot on Maybe there still is hope in oz for a return of the LWB Fairlane/LTD.
  11. Every year the same Australian motoring journaliats make the trek to Detroit for the show, get to meet the Ford president and bring up the same story. This has been happening as far back as the 80's when the EA Falcon was supposed to be the last 'unique' Australian Ford. Sorry,I have heard it all before Can you imagine Ford re-introducing the Taurus nameplate back in oz? The company would be laughed out of the country, seriously if you own or drive one down under you are considered a joke
  12. All I want to know is is it going to be front wheel drive or rear wheel drive? There are so many conflicting stories/opinions out there, surely someone must know...
