  1. Yes, build a 1.3L I-3 Eco-boost. Then build a 2.6L I-6 Eco-boost for Lincoln and F-150.
  2. I would think that the B, C, and CD will continue on separate platforms, but there is no reason why new techniques and technology can't be developed to be shared on all platforms. In other words, 3 platforms that share a lot of the same engineering and some of the same parts.
  3. Yeah, nitrogen is not a fuel. Nitrogen is what you have left after you remove the oxygen from air. Except that you need extra energy to cool and compress it into a liquid. In this case case it would be easier just to use water instead of liquid nitrogen. It would be called a steam engine.
  4. I like the idea of using Propane (LPG) instead. It has higher energy density. Rather that slowly pumping natural gas under high pressure, Propane can transferred very quickly as a liquid and stored under much lower pressure. I assume that when it is a liquid, Propane requires much smaller and lighter tanks than natural gas. Best of all, Propane can be manufactured from natural gas; you just add water and some heat.
  5. So how does the Focus DCT rate after the software fix?
  6. I have a copy of the same chart but could not find where is saved it. I did a Google search on some terms used in the chart and found the source. http://www.greencarcongress.com/2009/12/ecoboost-20091220.html
  7. This makes much more sense. This is the type of thing that I was suspecting, but it was not stated.
  8. This makes no sense to me. It is the heat in the exhaust that pushes both the piston during the power stroke and pushes the turbo. If you cool the exhaust, then you lose pressure. Either I don't understand what she is saying, she does not understand it (unlikely since she has an engineering background), or she is holding back some technical facts to keep them from the competition. I would love to know more details.
  9. I have driven the VW I5. I find them rough running and they make an odd sound. I have driven many big I4's and I could not tell that they were not a V6. I would rather have a big I4.
  10. I have driven both the Cruze and the Fiesta. The Cruze is much, much bigger, smoother and very, very quiet. If the Focus is better than the Cruze, then it would have no problem competing with the Fiesta.
  11. Bigger is usually better in the buyers eye. The fact that they are more expensive and may make steering more precise, allows automakers to charge a good markup on them.
  12. If you take an Explorer and changed both the exterior and the interior, then you would have an all new vehicle, not a Lincoln version of the Explorer. Such a vehicle would be a good idea but someone would have to determine what the exterior should look like.
