  1. I have about the same sort of problem with tire constraints on 3 2011 F450s that I ordered back in Febuary. I got word last week they would be built later this fall as 2012s. The only good thing they are doing for me is price protecting them back to the 2011 prices and the dealer is going to honor the trade in quotes as well. I just recieved a 2011 XL F150 last month that I ordered in early march, because I have a fleet # I was able to order it with the same 10 ply tires I think you are getting on your HD F150, it took about 2-3 times longer to get the truck than expected, same went for the STX ext cab I got in last week, it had std tires and still took 3 months to get it. Ford just flat out closed to many plants IMO and was not prepaired to meet the current demand for trucks. I have to think that the extream down turn the truck market took in 2008, is now being followed by some pentup demand. I don't think there is much you can do other then see if there is another tire optional on the truck you have ordered. Say if there is a white letter version listed as an option, then maybe they can switch your order to those and get it out quicker, your dealer will have to check the order guide and contact the ford order center to see changing the tire selction would improve you lead time.
  2. Ya it suprised me too. I was hoping it would at least get the same. I read some reviews that some commented on the better mileage do to the 6 speed, I was just not sure I believed it. I have had a few pickups in years past with 5.4L motors and they hard on fuel compared to the chevys I had had in the past and the Chevys had more power. This 6 speed seems to have turned the tables a little on the comparison. Now the Ford feels like it might have a little more power and now the Ford gets the better mileage. I should also mention how incredibly quite this Epy is inside, at all speeds, it is very quite. Also so far there is none of the clunky rattle trap feel of Large SUVs from the years past. The 07 burb was also quite inside, but not quite as quite as this new Expy though.
  3. The power seems pretty decent. No complaints here, and I do pull trailers quite often. It feels a little stronger then my 07 5.3L Suburban. I am really liking the the better mileage. I took the Xpy on a little 1.5 hour trip last night, and it shows 18 mpg, wich to me having had this 07 suburban and making that same trip over and over in it for 2 years, and never seeing more than 15mpg-16mpg, I thought it was a really nice improvement. Also Did I mention how awesome AC seats are in the summer.
  4. I am sure with both of ours showing up, and I think all our build dates were about the same time. yours has to be arriving to you anyday now as well.
  5. There is a thread on here that has the 2010 order guide on it. They appear to be the same as the 2009, except for a couple color choice changes. I thought my new 09 shifted perfect, but I only have maybe 80 -100 miles on it so far. It rides and drives a whole lot nicer then my 07 Suburban. I thought the Sub drove pretty darn nice, but the expedition seems to be a clear step above the Suburbans in many reguards.
  6. Congrats on the new rig. Mine showed up the 23rd, I picked it up last night. I am really happy with it. It rides and drive quite a bit nicer then my 2007 Suburban, and if the computer is even close on the mileage, its getting 2-3 mpg better then my Suburban. Last night on the highway it was showing over 18mpg, my suburban does best of about 15-16 on the highway. The new EL KR is the first vehichle I have ever owned with airconditioned seats. Man with temps in here bumping the hundred mark and heat index reaching 108. I really like the AC seats in this thing.
  7. Looks like yours might be coming down the assymbly line the same time mine is, those are the exact same dates I was given for my 09 Expy. I am starting to get kinda excited about mine too. I use to drive Suburbans then I had a few Excursions, and went back tot the Suburban since they no longer offerd Excursions and some friends had some somewhat poor reliabilty and very poor mileage with there 02 Expedition. This will be my first time to own an expedition, I got to drive one of the current boddy styles for the first time a few weeks ago, and man it was nice, I liked it quite a bit better then my 07 Suburban, I wished I had checked into the Expeditions back in 07. Anyway those dates should be pretty acurate. The Dealer ETA is more of a ball park number, transit time can verry by several days. So I am thinking mine could show up 3-4 days prior to the 29 or as many as 3-4 days after the 29th. I hope its here no later then the 1st of July, that will give me time to get it pickup and ready to take our anual road trip to the lake over the the 4th holiday.
  8. There may be chance that now production is back up and running again. There will be more in stock on dealers lots to pick from soon. Just a few weeks ago there was not one in a 100 miles of me to even test drive. I noticed a couple were on the lot now at the local dealer. I just do not know what has gotton into all these mfgs and there straying away from basic color choices. I noticed you can't get my alternate color in a KR in 2010 either, wich my alternate colors was basic bright white. 2010 is some sort of pearl cream white on the KRs. Chrysler had done the same thing with there trucks, no more basic bright white or gloss black, now only stone cream white and metalic black. GM was smart enough to stick with there basic colors and through in a metalic black and pearl white as additional choices.
  9. The 2010 order guide was released the same week I ordered mine. I saw they were dropping Gloss black, the color I was planning to order, and since there really were not any other changes other than color, I decided since the 2009 order bank was still open to order from for another week. I went with the 09. Also if you order a 2010 there would be no incentives when it came in, and Job one was not going to be till after the summer shut down. I decided it was best to jump on the 2009.
  10. My order was confirmed, and then the VIN was assigned, then the next week the build date was set. It looks like both of our Expeditions are being built the same week. I have a dealer ETA set for the last week of June. This is Just a guess but maybe the salesman didn't want to take the time to go and look up the order to find your VIN right then, so they just said they didn't have it yet. Thats just a guess, because I think at least based off the process I have been though this past few weeks with mine that its unlikely to have a build date without the VIN being assigned. I ordered mine about 3 weeks ago, every Thursday Ford has updated my order status. 1. Week one I got the order confirmed with no problems or errors. 2. Week 2 I got the VIN # 3. Week 3, I got the order date week of the 14th and Dealer eta last week of June it should arrive at the dealer.
  11. 2010 looks to be pretty much identical to the 09 engine. There is no optional powertrains, 6 speed auto and a 310/365 hp/tq 5.4. Pretty much the whole truck looks to be the same for 2010, except for some color choices have been changed.
  12. I think you should be able to order one now. I just ordered mine last week. Vin number was assigned yesterday. I should have a build date next week . Mine is also a loaded EL KR insted of LTD. I think the problem may have been Ford moved the Expy produciton to Kentucky a few months ago. They probably had no producion capabilty at the time you were trying to order yours. I know right now there is not one Epedition in 100 miles of me, there is about 12 ford dealers in that range. To this day I have still never had a chance to drive one or even set in one. I hope I like it when it gets here.
  13. I ordered a 2009 King Ranch Expedition EL, last week and in order to get it with the standard machined 18" rims that, I wanted. I could not get the Navigation upgrade. I have found a dealer in Chicago that seems to know a lot about these different radio systems and sells a lot of new ford radios on ebay. They were telling me the switch gear on the steering wheel was different between sync and sync with nav. Has any one seen both sytems or does anyone know more about what I am getting into to upgrade to sync nav after the truck is built. To get the sync NAV factory installed you have to buy the 5500.00 luxury pkg that forces you to take the plastic Chrome clad 20"s. I can get the sync nav radio for 1700.00 includeing all the hardware needed from that Ford dealer in Chicago, the local Ford dealer said 3 grand to do it. . So I ordered the truck with basic sync system and plan to do this upgrade myself with the ffactor parts from the Ford dealer in Chicago. I am just still a little nervouse that some major road block may pop up when I go to try and make the upgrade.
  14. No, scroll down to the Trim level you are looking for. The SSV Special service fleet units have the colum shift. Like police units, or Fire and rescue units, those would have the colum shift. The regular public base model XLT and up still has the console floor shiffter. The Big reason I want ahead and ordered a 09 King Ranch EL last week, was the order guide came out and Ford has dropped black for 2010. I love basic black, but I kinda hate metalic black. I am really not a fan of metalic colors in general. Some look nice to me but I would not be inclined to buy one. If anything ever happens to a metalic finish that would require repair, it is almost inposible to ever match it to the rest of the vehichle. I am just real picky about that sort of thing, and there for I don't really ever buy metalic colors. In the case of the new metalic black, I just never have cared for the way metalic black looks dusty in direct sun light. So in order to get basic black I had to order an 09 last week . I got my VIN assigned yesterday. I should have a build date next week.
  15. Congrats on the new truck order. I am sure you thought of this, but that $14,000 loss you are getting ready to take would buy about 30-40,000 miles worth of diesel fuel to feed the F350.
