jrys
Can anyone give me a best guess when I can expect a Flex Limited Eco Boost, which I ordered on 10/28/2009 to be delivered to a Long Island, NY Dealer?
DUCKRACER
Can anyone give me a best guess when I can expect a Flex Limited Eco Boost, which I ordered on 10/28/2009 to be delivered to a Long Island, NY Dealer? Your dealer should be the best source for that info. My2 cents. When you start your flex, dont touch the accelerater. Let it idle as low as possible for about 30 seconds. This lets oil get to the trubo bearings. Turbos spin up to tens of thousands of RPMs. Same thing when you turn it off. Let it idle for about ten seconds before you shut it off. This gives the turbos time to slow down before you shut off the oil supply to them. In my '04 PSD I could hear the turbo spooling down after I got out of the truck even though I followed this procedure. I am just Old School. You may get different advice. Send us some pics when you get it, you lucky devil. Edited November 25, 2009 by DUCKRACER
jrys
Duckracer I have run turbo diesels in my Boats for many years. I always give them plenty of time to warm up and cool down. So i guess I'm turbo acclimated. Thanks for the concern!

I work at the plant. I would guesstimate 2 months. I could get into details about Ford reducing inventory last winter after the market crash, and some problems with the supply chain from India..but it's pretty boring stuff. Hope you enjoy your new Eco Boost Flex!
