Ford Jellymoulds
Fiesta sales are still on roll, Focus sales are slipping to Golf thats still Europes best selling car. Renault leap over Ford, Peugeot & Fiat leap frog over GM pushing them down to No5, Toyota jump over Mercedes & Audi. BMW have a very poor month, Kia, Hyundai Dacia, & Mini had some of the biggest gains in Europe. VW, Ford & Fiat are the only three with positive YTD numbers, JATO mentioned 5 biggest markets had scrappage schemes still in place, l thought it had already ended in Germany hence the fall of in sales at BMW & Mercedes but VW don't seem to be to suffering to much but sales are below monthly average in rises.. Ford Jellymoulds
Whats up with renault? I think Renault had very bad October sales last year their sales fell to all time lows, don't know what helped Renault to overtake Ford this year other than heavy discounting, Fiat GM & Chevy have also been giving away their cars for next to nothing, they must be making next to no profit maybe even selling them at a loss, Ford's Fiesta sells for top money £10,000, Fiat are selling the Fiat Panda for £5,000. It's a shame these charts don't show how much profit each company made from the sales of their cars Ford might be number one if they did. Agree FJM, it's a hollow victory to win the sales race by throwing away profit margins.
Ford Jellymoulds
I don't understand the Clio's numbers. This thing is hideous. New Renault Clio starting price was £9,995 at launch, now selling for peanuts £5,300 at big losses. Just had a look at the Clio price at Renault UK £5,300 they must be making a big loss on every one they are selling, its a fresh new model to the market as well. Your right they are hideous, l hired one a Clio few years ago on holiday they have silky smooth manual gearboxes which l liked, but they are a bit cramped inside. Can't wait for my next holiday its gonna be a Fiesta, trouble is everybody else will want to hire one as well with the few that are out there, most Fiesta sales are being brought by private buyers. What was Aussie Ford like when he was in charge JPD did he change much? Wonder how Ford would have turned out if he had become a bus driver like his dad instead of running Ford? BORG
It does not surprise me that the Focus is losing ground, it's aging and the market is crowded with newer stuff.

LOL I can just picture it now Sergio Marchionne as an older Kate Winnslet & Bob Nadel as an aging Leonardo with a dodgy Fiat Sat Nav on board guiding Chrylsler with a sheared propshaft using giant oars to row as they drift helplessly about and hit Al Gore & few polar bears on a iceburg floating past Nassau in the Bahamas. Whats Bob doing these days? Edited November 18, 2009 by Ford Jellymoulds

Ford Jellymoulds
Plus Peugeot is getting out of the "hot hatch" segment. And into the Coupe market instead due to poor hot hatch sales. Auto Express.... Take a look at Peugeot’s new baby coupé! Auto Express has learned that the Lion is getting ready to roar into the small sports car market with this sensational 2+2, which boasts Ferrari style at an affordable price tag. The newcomer will sit below the eagerly awaited 308 RC Z, which is due in the spring, and is part of a plan for the firm to place its sporting focus on coupés, following its decision to step out of the hot hatch arena. And this baby coupé is set to be an even bigger hit than the 205 GTi. Sources have revealed that Jean-Pierre Ploue, head of design at PSA Peugeot Citroen, has some radical styling ideas on the drawing board, and the dramatic one-piece front grille with a floating badge – much like the current crop of Ferraris – is a big part of it. Expect to see this new look, which takes over from the current split grille arrangement, introduced across the range over the coming years. Small coupés are big news! You don’t need big engines and a huge price tag to have fun, which is why pint-sized sports cars are making a comeback. Deanh
Im betting the mileage will be a huge imrovement. over the regular manual? hard to say...very little parasitic losses with a plain old manual and clutch...i also question long term durability....100k out of the initial clutch etc on a man trans is NOT an issue....
