biggtone
Layed off from Saline this week due to parts shortage at Chicago plant because of Ford supplier plant in India being on strike we are told. (guess they dont have a "no strike clause" there), went from working 7 days 12 hours due to trying to keep up with Taurus production to layed off this week, here is about all i could dig up on this... There is a parts shortage due to labor problems in India's automotive sector. Thousands of Indian automotive workers are on strike. One man has died, so far. It's affecting Ford, Honda, and Hyundai. Ford's parts come from Rico Auto Industries at Haryana. It's not getting alot of press in the USA. I am surprised that Ford employees haven't heard about the labor strife at the parts suppliers. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB125604570010196419.html

diecaster
Did you start this topic to brag about that your working 7 days 12 hours a day!!! With people on layoff FORD should add another shift at Saline and cut out that costly overtime! Don't hate asshole, everyone had the oppurtunity to go to Saline, if you did not sign up then enjoy your 40 hour check or unemployment. With people on layoff FORD should add another shift at Saline and cut out that costly overtime! Definatly NOT bragging about anything after being layed off 7 months out of the last 12 months before transferring to Saline, I am very blessed in this industry and economy not only to be getting overtime right now but to also be in the department for the Taurus which is selling so good and helping allow Ford to hopefully post another billion dollar quarter of profit, so dont get it twisted. was just looking for information, which by the way we have been contacted to come back Saturday due to strike being over. By the way... who in Region 1 and 1A is on ILO right now? Edited November 12, 2009 by biggtone

lquidspine
we had a meeting with bob kings right hand and she told us that their was no one on layoff! Wow so they put two thousand people back to work since the Octomods failed huh? Because that was the number they gave out as still on ILO during the sales pitch, errr informational meetings. I am still waiting for the language from them that outlined the time limits on Arbitration I was promised, ya i know it really does not matter now but I like to collect information.
