Need Help With Taurus Order Status

Ordered Taurus SHO on Sept. 29 VIN 1FAHP2KTXAG124597

 

When I try to get the window sticker (based on the Link I was given previously), it says it is not available, which I have been told would be the answer up until approximately a week of the production date.

 

But when I call Customer Care I am told it is in production and scheduled for the day of Nov 2. That is four days away and still no window sticker.

 

Any idea what is going on with my order?

It's up there now. Looks like it's still scheduled during the week you were told. I remember mine didn't go up until a day or two before. I think the sticker site updates sometime on Sunday, so that may be why.

Thanks for the Info!!

 

If I may ask, how did you get this info? Do you work at the Chicago plant, did you actually see it in the yard or do you have access to a computer inventory system.

 

I was told by Ford Customer Service Center Monday that my car had been made Nov 2, and by their latest report (Nov 3) it was at ramp79 waiting shipment. Could this have been the same report you read (a week old today) or was your report current or did you actually see it in the yard if you work at that plant.

 

Just hoping it was on its way. Another Taurus with the same production date (Nov 2) was already showing up on my dealerships current inventory even though it has not arrived yet.

Another question please! I understand that the Chicago Assembly Plant is currently shut down for at least a week due to a shortage of transmission parts from India. Since the plant is shut down, would the shipping yard also be shut down during this same time? I'm concerned that my car might get locked in the shipping yard for the duration of this Furlough period.

During this shutdown at the Chicago Assembly Plant, would the shipping yard also be shut down? I am worried that my car will get locked up in the shipping yard until this furlough period is over.

I'm beginning to lose faith in Ford's Customer Care. My dealer has two 2010 Taurus on order, my SHO and a Limited, that were both built on Nov.2 according to the available online window stickers. Customer Care tells me that my car is built and and is still waiting for shipment with no esitmated arrival date (the same message I have gotten since Nov. 4). With the other Taurus made on the same date as my SHO Taurus, Customer Care tells me it has been shipped with an estimated arrrival date of Nov. 25 (it actually arrived Nov 11 at the dealership).

 

So what gives? First why is Ford's Customer Care so far off the true status of these cars and second how can two cars made on the same day be so seperated on the delivery date to the same dealership?

 

P.S. I can call Customer Care twice in a couple of minutes, get two different employees and get two totally different status reports on my car.

 

Any suggestions besides just relax and wait?

Your car was ordered the same day my SHO was ordered. My build date was Nov 2. You can look at some of the other posts on this site and find the hppt address for a site that will print your window sticker close to the time your car has been built. Just go to the site with one of the other listed VIN numbers and substitute your VIN into the hppt address. Your car shows that it was built Nov 6. This date is shown at the top left of the window sticker.

 

You can also call Ford Customer care number 1-800-392-3673 and work your way through the phone options until you get a live person and ask them to track the status of your new car order and give them the VIN. As you can read in my previous posts, some of the employees that answer will give you some good info, but others are lazy or no not know how to look any info up for you.

 

My dealer has actually received a Taurus that was built on the same day as mine, Nov 2, but mine continues to show as waiting to be shipped for the last 12 days now.

 

Good luck getting some up-to-date info.

Thanks for all the info in the other post BamaRon, I'm just glad that yours has shipped and is on it's way, I'll call the CS number on Monday or try and get a hold of my dealer this weekend to see if they can tell me any more info about mine.
