AM2
COLOGNE, Germany — The redesigned Ford C-Max, which goes on sale in the second half of 2010, will makes its public debut later this month at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show. Ford says the new C-Max is the first model off the company's revised C-segment global compact platform, which also will spawn the next-generation Ford Focus that will be unveiled in late 2010. According to Ford, the new C-Max borrows heavily from the design of the Ford Iosis Max concept that was displayed earlier this year at the Geneva show. The new model sheds the boxy look of the current C-Max in favor of a swoopier shape that also picks up some styling cues from the Fiesta hatchback. The 2011 C-Max will feature a new EcoBoost 1.6-liter four-cylinder gasoline direct-injection engine, Ford said. Its advanced safety equipment will include a blind-spot detection system and semiautomatic parallel parking. Inside Line says: The new C-Max looks sharp — just the thing for young families around the globe. — Paul Lienert, Correspondent - http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/autoshow...html#fordcmax05 Edited September 3, 2009 by AM2
