2010 Series and Vent Visor Feedback

Hi Folks,

For those of you who have the 2010 Fusion's I'm looking to get some feedback from you... Previously on my older cars I painted the vent visors to match the color of the car...

However with the black striping in between the front and back doors, I'm thinking that this would make the vent visors alot more visible, where previously it hid them.

What do you guys think I should do, paint them or leave them smoke as shipped?

Also anyone who has pictures of thier smoke vent visors on thier new fusion it woudl be appreciated... I'd be especailly interested in those who have a brighter color fusion (white, red, blue, grey) so that I can get an idea of how they look on the car non-painted!

Thanks All!

I guess there aren't alot of people who have installed vent visors on thier fusions...

Since I don't really like inchannel vent visors due to conflicts, and sizing difference I think I'm definately going to have to buy the FoMoCo's editon of the external ones. However once again, to paint or not to paint..

If anyone has any pictures of thier vehicle with vent visors installed and thier sucess rate please let me know... Would love to see the outcome to better decide my options... Websites never do show then installed on the actual vehicles! Which doesn't help.

Thanks again for any feedback or pictures you can offer!

What kind of paint adhesion did you get on the plastic? I've added vent visors to allow for ventilation when raining and when I was a smoker. Although I'm passing on my Fusion because of the problem I had removing them from my Freestyle. The very front lost its stick and it would get caught in the wind and pull away. I had a heck of a time removing the adhesive. I finally got all the glue off after a lot of Goof Off and scraping. On the Freestyle the area you stick the visor to was not painted but covered with a tape and some of that pulled off. It ended up being a real pain. So, if you put them on, the adhesive tape on the genuine Ford visors is really strong and a PITA to remove.

Well if you technically think about it... The tape begins to bake into the paint the longer it sits into the sun... So it will adhere worse over time, in the beginning the tape is fresh and will remove easily... Also when you go to remove them, I believe that their is a special adhesive remover to get items like this off, as most of your car lettering is equally applied with adhesive tape like this from vendors like 3M. However, after you apply the remover the items come off cleanly and that's how your body shops and fix your car without ruining the finish.

As far as I know it's standard adhesive Ford has, so I'd just use it... My contimplation is to leave it smoke or paint them.. That's why I'm looking for samples of what the vistors look like on the cars themselves!
