My first question is that I have a couple of 2010 Explorers on order and my dealership said that production starts on 15 June 2009. My questions is will the assembly of the trucks start that day or will it take a couple of weeks to get the orders processed and scheduled and then start building? The other question is about the 6r transmissions. I know that there is a 6r60 and a 6r80. Does Ford plan to build a beefier 6 speed transmission to say put in the Super Duty products, like the V-10 or the V8 Diesel. I'm thinking of something like a 6r110. Thanks for letting me know. Terry First, I don't know specifics, I just know what I've read here. IIRC, I think the V-10 is supposed to be replaced by the new 6.2L BOSS V8, while the 6.4 PSD is supposed to be replaced by the 6.7L Scorpion, and I think they both were to recieve 6-speeds. Thanks for letting me know. I have been fantasizing that Ford will make an engine mistake on my Explorers that I have on order and ship a Shelby GT500 engine to the plant, which would end putting it in my truck.
