Blue Oval Guide
Race Track Sues Shelby American Club For $115K The only car club in the New Jersey Motorsports Park's inaugural season left off the 2009 schedule is being sued over unpaid bills. Advertisement The Motorsports Park, which opened last July, is suing Shelby American Automobile Club for more than $115,000 for track rentals and other fees associated with the club's August race weekend. The club, however, says the issue has been resolved and a 2009 date is in the works. The track's ownership groups, New Jersey Motorsports LLC, NJMP Management LLC and NJMP Operating Company LLC, filed suit Nov. 25 in Cumberland County Superior Court, charging the club owes the Motorsports Park $115,780.50 plus costs and legal fees for outstanding charges from the weekend. Kenneth Eber, national director for the club, said Monday he reached a verbal agreement with Motorsports Park co-owner Harvey Siegel last week. He said the club has set a tentative date next summer at the Motorsports Park, and it has agreed to allow the club to use proceeds from the 2009 event to settle any outstanding debts from August. "We have a verbal agreement with New Jersey Motorsports Park to resolve the issue," Eber said, adding he hasn't yet seen the lawsuit. CLICK HERE TO READ MORE.
