Ford Jellymoulds
Auto Express.... Give a big welcome to a new breed of family Ford. This is the best look yet at the B-MAX – a supermini-MPV that's set to be one of the most popular models on UK roads. The Fiesta-based car – which replaces the much-criticised, slow-selling Fusion – offers style and practicality in a compact package. It will slot into the range below the C-MAX, which will be available with five and seven seats when the next generation version goes on sale in a couple of years' time. But the B-MAX will take Ford into the rapidly expanding supermini-MPV class. http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/autoexpr...space_race.html </H2> Edited November 13, 2008 by Ford Jellymoulds
lfeg
You just like to panic some of the US based, don't you. Nice small wagon though.
ANTAUS
I like it...I would like to see it as a US addition, in the lines of the Mazda5.
NickF1011
This vehicle might do well in the US. Hope they bring it shortly after the Fiesta.
battyr
Note, this really isn't an MPV. It is a Fiesta with more head room and more trunk space. Also it's front grill copies more the style of the American Fiesta than the European Fiesta. The back looks like it copies the Kuga. Ford should kill the Fiesta for the US and sell the B-max with an added trunk for the US. I would buy one for a second car. Must have space for my cowboy hat. Ford Jellymoulds
I always wanted to be a lumberjack there not much of a demand for them in London. We don't have any Cowboys in the UK but we have lot of Indians, so the B-Max boot (Is that trunk in the US, thats something we put on to go swimming in the UK) would be ideal carrying curry and samosa takeaways in. akirby
Also note the Fusion referenced in the article is a small CUV not sold in the U.S. - not our Fusion midsized sedan.

NickF1011
looks like the 4 door Fiesta....seems Ford is ONCE AGAIN putting all their stylistic grandeur in one baggie........ Well, considering how closely related it is to the Fiesta, it's no surprise they look similar. I have no problem with a cohesive design direction for Ford (for once). The problem is "plastering" styling cues to other designs that already exist. That's a recipe for failure. If they are all designed cohesively from start to finish, the results would be much better. Take a look at the continuity of Ford's North American lineup in the 1996-1997 timeframe to see what I'm talking about. They were all designed to share a family resemblence (even the Mustang), yet they were all very much their own design. Reminds me of one of the most memorable (at least to me) Ford ads of the time: A full page spread of every vehicle in Ford's lineup (even the E-series!!) in white, photographed at the same angle. It really demonstrated the family resemblence of the lineup and it showed very well how many different choices Ford actually offered. J-150
I never knew they had cowboys in Canada. l thought your were all Mounties & Lumberjacks. our oilpatch in Alberta is just like Texas. Conservative cowboys that pretty much just buy pickups. And just like Texas, where they dont capture oil, they farm cattle.
Biker16
the B-max is Ford's fit destroyer. The old Fusion (euro) Was a decent car, just lacked personality and identity. it had C-class interior space in a B-class footprint.
jpd80
I wonder if South America will style a new Ecosport along the same lines, a mini Kuga perhaps?

I'm hoping a new EcoSport would look a bit more rugged in its appearance than the B-Max.

In US we call it "Take out." Did you forget your chicken vindaloo? =P (First heard of it watching Red Dwarf with the last human in the universe apparantly hating the stuff!) Seriously though, I thought that picture was a 5-door Fiesta. 7-passenger version won't fly here in US unless it can pull 5-star safety rating on both US Gov & IIHS crash tests. It wouldnt be 7 passenger, that is for the C-Max.
