Edstock
From AutoExpress: http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/autoexpr...ntre_stage.html No engine details have been revealed for the regular Ka, and the same applies to the ST version. Nevertheless, because the new Ford and the Fiat 500 share numerous components, the ST is likely to use the same 1.4-litre four-cylinder turbocharged unit as the Abarth 500. That would mean a minimum power output of 135bhp, and given the ST’s potential low kerbweight, buyers can expect a 0-60mph time of less than eight seconds and a top speed in the region of 125mph. While the ST will undoubtedly be fast, it will also be frugal, with combined economy approaching 50mpg and CO2 emissions of around 150g/km. Surprisingly, the Ka ST has yet to be given the green light. Ford bosses expect the majority of Ka sales to be accounted for by upcoming super-frugal, low-emission ECOnetic versions, and are prioritising development of these ahead of the sporty model. Subject to demand for an ST model from UK buyers, though, they will press ahead with the project, with a likely arrival time of 2010. So get down to your local dealer now and start pestering! Now, 175 hp with a RevoKnuckle front-end . . . . . :happy feet:

Edstock
seeing more and more of the hideous squeegie styled Smarts on the road....MAn they look unstable on the road The 2-seater Smart looks like if it got hit just right, by, say, a jack-knifing tractor-rig, it would start rolling end over end, and keep rolling. ANTAUS
I saw an accident on the highway which involved a Smart. Slippery roads...it was trying to pass an 18 wheeler at 60MPH and it just slipped right off the highway and lost control.... hit an embankment below. I couldnt look back but did watch the news later in the night where they mentioned the person did live, just had to be rescued and was in critical condition at the hospital. SH3
I really like the 2009 Ka and a sport version with a higher output engine would make things so one would be parked in my driveway . Ford would have need to sell them in the USA for this to happen . Looks sharp ! Edited February 8, 2009 by SH3

That would give the MINI a real run. The Motor review on YouTube said that the KA starts at 8,000 pounds. I wonder what they could sell it for here. Hell, Smart cars are selling for $16k.
