povertyknob
With the current N.A. Ranger stagnating due to inattention and the F-100 apparently tabled it seems like the T-6 will be imported. What do we know of it's capabilities? I'm sort of anxious to see it if there is an improvement in the drive train.
NickF1011
According to some sources, the rumor about the death of the T100 has been grossly exaggerated. If the T6 Ranger is sold here, there's probably a better chance it will be BUILT here instead of imported here as well. The timeframe for both is probably somewhere around '12 model year if they are going to come at all.

It would have been nice if Ford hadn't given up improving the N.A. Ranger years ago. I realize there's no money available for it now. But if they had kept up with designs to accomodate safety standards and planned ahead to put the 3.0 p.i.p or 3.5 in it they wouldn't be worrying about having to allocate money for a new program. Completely agree. Unfortunately, what's done is done. All we can do now is hope that they make better decisions moving forward. Bringing T6 production here would be a good start, even if it is a little later than we need it.

NickF1011
T stands for Tremec in transmission circles. The T-5 was the Fox body Mustang tranny. SN-95 uses the Tremec 3650, as does the current S197 Mustang. Actually the T didn't stand for Tremec, as the first T-series transmissions were built by Borg-Warner, not Tremec. Tremec subsequently bought Borg-Warner however, I do believe. The SN-95's used T-5's in all V6 applications (as do the S197's still) and the V8's used Borg-Warner T-45's starting in 96 and going through some point in 1999 I believe it was when they switched over to the TR-3650. Only other transmission found in SN95's was the T-56 used in 03-04 Cobras and the '00 Cobra R (which were slightly different from one another also). I also think the 95 Cobra R used a Tremec TKO.
