Nwzed
Anybody with a F-150 truck experienced this problem? I have a 2006 F-150 S-CREW King Ranch and since it was new I've had a rattle or flapping noise coming from the passenger side vent. I've taken it to the local Ford dealer 3 times and each time the fix something but it hasn't fixed the noise. I was researching it on the INTERNET and found this TSB, I performed and tested the procedure and it fixed the problem. Ford on the other hand doesn't want to pay for the fix recommended, which is, to replace the mirror because the TSB is not for the F-150. FORD: 2007 Expedition LINCOLN: 2007 Navigator ISSUE: Some 2007 Expedition and Navigator vehicles built before 05/07/2007 may exhibit wind noise around the exterior driver and/or passenger doors. This may be most noticeable near the A-pillar area of the door. ACTION: Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition. SERVICE PROCEDURE NOTE: IF THE VEHICLE BUILD DATE IS ON OR AFTER 5/07/2007, THIS TSB DOES NOT APPLY. CONTINUE WITH NORMAL WORKSHOP MANUAL DIAGNOSTICS. Tape the trailing edge of the mirror sail down to the front window glass from the tip of the mirror sail to the belt molding. If the noise goes away, replace the mirror on the effected side. Both mirrors do not have to be replaced. If the noise does not go away, continue with normal Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 100-04 diagnostics. The mirrors are not even the same. When you say from the passenger side vent, you mean the a/c vents? Or the black cowling below the windshield? Nwzed
The noise was coming from the triangle shaped cowling on the side window. I understand the the TSB is not for the F-150, however after the 4th trip to the dealer they replaced the mirror and the noise is gone.
