twintornados
Will Ford consider this move? It almost seems a natural since there is very little overlap between the two marques Madza2 (coming soon) Mazda3 Mazda5 Mazda6 Step into Mercury with: Milan (enough differences to Mazda6 that the two cars would not eat into each others sales) Sable Grand Marquis SUV lineup: Mariner (drop Tribute...) CX7 CX9 Mountaineer (redone on the Taurus X body style with Mercury cues) Sporty: RX8 Capri (on RX8 mechanicals with an EcoBoost V6 instead of Rotary) Truck: B-Series new B+ Series on global Ranger chassis Edited May 4, 2008 by twintornados
twintornados
....And of Course, the line up at the Ford / Lincoln dealerships would be as follows: Fiesta (coming soon) Focus Fusion Taurus Step into Lincoln with: MKZ (enough differences from Fusion that they wont eat into each others sales) MKS Town Car SUV lineup: Escape Edge Taurus X / New Explorer Flex MKX MKT Sporty: Mustang MKR Truck: Ranger F-100 (on global Ranger chassis) F-150 F-250/350/450/550 LCF Edited May 4, 2008 by twintornados
twintornados
Lest we forget about Volvo....it should remain as a stand alone dealership, with the option in select markets to be set up as an out parcel "dealer-within-a-dealer" to both the Ford / Lincoln dealerships as well as the Mazda / Mercury dealerships. jaydez
It can be done. I used to live down the street from a Mazda-Mercury Dealership. The dealers are independant and can group the brands how ever they want. Hell, my brother used to work for a Buick-Nissan dealership. Mark B. Morrow
The dealer we got our LS from in 2000 is a Lincoln-Mercury/Mazda combination.
twintornados
I honestly believe that a realignment of the dealership network would help the brands without the costs associated with discontinuing a marque....look what it cost General Motors to shelve Oldsmobile....and what did it net them in return.....nothing.
