MFurey25
anyone think waiting the extra few months for the 09 instead of the 08 is worth it?
johnjyi
anyone think waiting the extra few months for the 09 instead of the 08 is worth it? If I may say, that would depend on decorations. The 2009 will have the 45th badging whereas the 2008 won't. The 2009 will also have a few other minor (in my opinion) differences. On the flipside, if you're watching your money, I'd go with the 2008 since it will have rebates whereas the 2009 will probably have minimal...at least for a little while. Just my 2 cents. ice-capades
Anyone have an idea when 2009 pricing will be available? Pricing for the new Model Year is usually announced at about the time production starts (Job #1).
Timvis
Sweet, it looks like the Bullitt is back! Also the white stripe on the GT/CS is now confirmed. I'm gonna assume the Bullitt is included in the '09 order guide only on the premise that they don't sell 7700 in '08? Anyone know for sure? I'd hate to think I just plopped down 35K for a car that won't be as collectable as promised.

This is only my opinion and speculation but I don't think that the Bullitt being offered for the 2009 Model Year has anything to do with production volume or demand for the 2008 Model Year. Considering that the 2009 Model Year Mustang is basically carryover until we get the next generation Mustang for the 2010 MY, offering the Bullitt Mustang for the 2009 MY makes it the only special edition Mustang other than the 2009 Shelby GT500 until we get the next generation Mustang. Well, there IS that new cancer research Pink striped one that's just been announced as a special order, but still, they guaranteed limited production of the Bullitt to 7700, so why would they go beyond that number? Wouldn't you assume the slower Mustang sales figures the past 2 years would be a more logical conclusion to including the Bullitt on next years order guide, just in case sales don't hit that number? Thanks!

I really don't consider the "Warriors in Pink" option as a special model in the same sense as the Bullitt or Shelby GT500. Nor do I thik that Ford building the Bullitt Mustang for the 2009 MY has anything to do with production or demand for the 2008 MY. Mustang sales are down overall for this year which is to be expected for the 4th year of the current generation. For the 2009 MY, the Bullitt Mustang becomes the only specialty model, other than the GT500, until we get the all-new Mustang for the 2010 MY. I'm sorry, but I don't see what one has to do with the other. They're all the same car, just optioned differently. Limited Edition means limited for a reason. Ford promised only 7700 of these 'specialty' Mustangs. As new car inventory manager, do you have more information? Does Ford have a history of setting build limits on SE's and then breaking them? What would the point of exclusivity? They built 6500 Bullitts in '01, and didn't go any further. I've also read that this will be the final Bullitt Mustang. Walt
Note: SYNC not available for 2009 MY. Bummer. :reading: Does that make the Mustang the only car without Sync in '09?
Walt
Ford promised only 7700 of these 'specialty' Mustangs. For 2008, or forever? :beatdeadhorse: I remember a very similar discussion when Ford "unexpectedly" continued the Mach 1 into 2004. Many of those with 2003's, cried foul! Timvis
For 2008, or forever? :beatdeadhorse: I remember a very similar discussion when Ford "unexpectedly" continued the Mach 1 into 2004. Many of those with 2003's, cried foul! I guess somehow I could have misunderstood the idea of 'limited' from Ford Walt. Maybe I should begin to cry foul now, but as it stands, these Bullitts could be more exclusive than originally anticipated by the looks of the recent sales figures. I really should just happy to be getting the last of the true muscle cars, In 5 years, everything will drive with a turbo V-6 manumatic, and a V-8, clutch and stick will go the way of the chrome bumper. And WHY no SYNC in the Stang this year? I bet KITT has it! Starting a new Bullitt thread now...
Walt
And WHY no SYNC in the Stang this year? I bet KITT has it! Starting a new Bullitt thread now... Good point. One and only one 2009 Mustang has Sync. That's KITT. That would make a good commercial (possibly on SNL?). KITT goes up to Mustang after Mustang, and wonders why none of them will talk to him. :slap:
Ralph Greene
Ford probably meant Bullitt production for 2008 limited to 7700. Leaving the door open for 2009. As mentioned above, that's how the 2003 Mach 1 was handled. Then they made a 2004 model, until finally the dealers had to discount them heavily with rebates, etc to move them. A lot of people got some real good deals on 04 Mach 1's. BTW....what is so exclusive about a Bullitt? I do like them though.

JETSOLVER
What, no $helby? I just want them to take all the crap off it, go back to the smaller snake and the single SVT badge and oh yea, the original prototype with the IRS. Of course, they think that the warrior in pink is a better profit per unit hitter...
Walt
Will all mustangs now have the message center standard? I didnt see anything about that or the MYcolor option What I have read, is that the message center is not an option anymore. It is standard on the Premium version, and that's it. I also read that the Mycolor option was being discontinued. Anyone have any confirmations on those?
75coug
Does the literature say that the Warrior in Pink package is related to breast cancer research? I did not see any such reference in my skim through it.

I did not see any such reference in my skim through it. I think the brochure has a blurb about it benefiting the Susan G. Komen foundation. Also, the press releases had such narrative. However, didn't see it in the 2009 order guide.
ice-capades
I think the brochure has a blurb about it benefiting the Susan G. Komen foundation. Also, the press releases had such narrative. However, didn't see it in the 2009 order guide. The 2008 Mustang Catalog mentions only that the "Warriors in Pink" option helps raise money for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure but does not provide more specific information. The 2009 Mustang Order Guide only provides information on the "Warriors in Pink" option/package content. Attached is a photo just received from the Ford BDC for the 2008 "Warriors in Pink" Mustang that specifies that a $250 contribution is made for each vehicle. dans07gt
I see Ford is not offering Grabber Orange for 2009 Mustangs Calfornia Special package. dang. i don't know why. it's just add ons for the Gt . maybe special orders can be built. RobErnst
What I have read, is that the message center is not an option anymore. It is standard on the Premium version, and that's it. I also read that the Mycolor option was being discontinued. Anyone have any confirmations on those? As near as I can tell (I just built "my" 2009 that I'm hoping to actually purchase), the Interior Upgrade Package is part of the premium. It's kind of sketchy as to whether that includes mycolor or not. Its worth the price (IMHO) for the aluminum dash, shifter, steering wheel and running boards but I've always kind of liked the MyColor. I'm more excited about the glass roof though! First thing I'll do to it is get a TRUE shaker hood kit and then a louder exhaust (the stock is "ok"). Might even jump up to the 3.73 or 4.10 gears from FRP. :stats: Rob
