tommygun
I was able to look at a copy of the 2008 lincoln mkz order guide. For those interested, here are the major 2008 model changes: Colors: -Moss Green Clearcoat Metallic (new) -Dark Blue Ink Clearcoat Metallic (new) -Vivid Red Clearcoat Metallic -Silver Birch Clearcoat Metallic -Dune Pearl Clearcoat Metallic -Light Sage Clearcoat Metallic -Black Clearcoat -White Suede Clearcoat Metallic (new) -Vapor Silver Clearcoat Metallic (new) Interior Changes: -Standard Satellite radio -Available Ambient Lighting (late availability) -Standard Perforated premium leather heated/cooled front seats Powertrain/functional Changes -Tire Pressure monitoring system -rear park assist It appears that everything else remains the same as the 2007 models. Drake
That stinks they got rid of Merlot. It was one of the best looking colors they had. I'm glad sat radio and the heated/cooled seats are standard now. Definatly two things I want on an MKZ whenever I get one.
LincolnFan
Err... Available Ambient Lighting? It's going to be an option?!
Meelaan
Err... Available Ambient Lighting? It's going to be an option?! Can anyone explain what exactly "ambient lighting" in a car is? Is that where the interior lights fade to black after you close the door?

The same thing that is optional for the 2008 focus where the footwells, cupholders, etc are light up by LEDs and you get to choose between 7 colors. Pretty worthless option if you ask me. Meelaan
Pretty worthless option if you ask me. Agreed. Seems Toyota's Scion gimmickry is trickling down to even Lincoln now. This kind of thing cheapens the image of the MKZ as a serious touring sedan.

I think I've also seen those things on VW's and BMW's too. So it's been around for a while on certain luxury cars. My dad's '74 VW 412 wagon had a 1/4" small light just below the middle of the dash that swiveled to light the area around the shift lever and parking brake and floor. Both of these had a very dim, subtle glow at night.
