bdegrand
My daughter has a 2014 Fusion but is worried that if Keyless Remote fails she will be unable to get in car because there is no slot to manually insert the key on the doors or trunk. murphy62
There is a hidden key slot on the driver's door handle. The key is inside of the fob. Described in the Owner's manual.

Yep take key using lite force push to release tab and slide cover off. Then you will expose a key cylinder. Becareful the caps break easy. It takes a little practice.
akirby
They did it to see who was or was not reading their owner's manual.
BORG
If she has push button start, she should also know that there is a slot in the center console for the keyfob so the car can detect it and allow you to start it when the fob battery is dead. This varies by cars so read the manual.

sullynd
Before I got my Edge I had a rental which had the missing seam sealer issue. The water must have shorted something in the electrical system, as the fob wouldn't work as I got to the car one night after work. Reading the manual on my phone, in a garage in Chicago, and figuring out how to remove the cover on the handle without breaking it, was no fun.
