  1. Today
  2. I previously provided examples of the different presentations of the coast to coast screens in the Chinese Explorer and Aviator where they had notable differentiation. How do we know the CtoC screen won’t only be available in the highest trim levels of the Expedition? I have no issue with that since the price of a Platinum is in Navigator territory. Although I would prefer the Navigator have a completely unique interior, at the same time I would also like the Expedition to have a superb interior as well.
  3. Cause it was put out during a shareholder meeting and not Musk directly? As for them being able to do it in 2025, well that is the question.
  4. Went to press down on my parking brake pedal, and it immediately came back up, it won't stick down. When it is up, that indicates the parking brake is off, but when I went to drive, an alarm went off indicating that the parking brake was on, even though the parking brake pedal was in the up position.
  5. Yesterday
  6. I agree that a screen doesn’t make the interior, but considering that in this case the screen is that big, it kinda does. Also, I am not acting like that, I’m just saying that it doesn’t make any sense IMO to share the same screen layout. sadly we haven’t seen the Navi interior but it is very likely like the one on the Nautilus. aside from the vents, it seems very similar to the one on the spy pics, also take into account that now the rotatory shifter seems to be near the screen, in a position similar to the push bottom transmission from the Nautilus is. but as you say, let’s wait

  8. It will be interesting to see if the lower half folds down or if it folds up like a traditional liftgate (similar to the '03-'05 Explorer). Especially on a vehicle this large with a massive third row cargo area, the flip down approach will make it harder to reach further into the vehicle. A screen does not make an interior. You're acting like you know every single item will be identical and swap out badges. This is the Expy's interior. We unfortunately haven't seen Navigator's yet, but we do know that Lincoln uses a more horizontal theme, and has elements like the piano shifter buttons, which means the entire dash beneath the screen can and likely will be completely unique. I'd imagine Navigator's interior will take cues from the Nautilus look with the full width horizontal vent, and a lot of the detailing seems to match the look of the Star concept, which will give a completely unique look vs. Expy. Let's not panic before seeing it.
  9. There is a warning tone and message that appears for a short period of time that you can "acknowledge" and it goes away. Depending on what the system was affected, it would say something like "Adaptive cruise control is turned off" or "preemptive forward braking is disabled" I think you can use the "driver assist" settings to turn off certain notifications. and I to have gotten "camera blocked" or "Sensor's blocked" messages as well.
  10. 2024 Toyota Tacoma vs. Ford Ranger, Chevrolet Colorado: Midsize Trucks Throw Down! (motortrend.com) Chevrolet’s updated Colorado is an impressive truck—impressive enough to have won our coveted Truck of the Year award for 2024. It’s worth noting the Colorado and its classy near-twin, the GMC Canyon, were the only midsizers in this year’s TOTY competition; the 2024 Toyota Tacoma wasn’t yet available, and the 2024 Ford Ranger was held up by strike-related shortages. Now, however, we’ve gotten our hands on both promising rivals. We know they’re greatly improved over their predecessors, but can they topple the Chevy?
  11. Yeah, that has been the case since 2003, but then again, why change it now? i think that people do care, IMO there are different segments but as you say, let’s wait for the releases.
  12. Nautilus is built (and sold) in China, perhaps different (local) suppliers with different metrics? Do you know Nautilus sales figures in China (I don't)?
  13. There’s a guy in my town who put a newer clip on his excursion (not the latest, but newer) and it looks sharp.
  14. The expedition and navigator hasn't shared an interior since 2003, gm followed suit a generation later. Gm and just about every other automaker usually follows fords lead In Regards to trends. That said, the denali didn't get a diff Interior from its counterparts until 2021. The escalade may look different, but it uses way more "shared parts" than the nav does to the expy, yet people feel the interior is better. People won't care if they share the same set up so much as they feel special. I'll wait until they are released to complain, but if ford is charging $90k to get in a platinum, I would prefer if it gave me nav vibes.
  15. but again, how do other automakers can but Ford doesn't? Also if Ford doesn't maintain the investment and further differentiation for the Navi, how will they accomplish more sales and greater volume? Also as Andrew says, the Nautilus got the coast to coast screen and there's no Ford counterpart yet. Materials and aesthetic is not enough, maybe it was 20-30 years ago but not anymore. If that was enough, don't you think that other automakers would do the same? Considering what you are saying, the Yukon and Escalade should have the same interior as the Tahoe, but that is not the case Agree, it makes no sense, everybody else that has a luxury brand debuts new tech on the luxury brand but as you say, it seems Ford needs to have the name get stuff.
  16. I think when I looked at the dealers in my area they had a few north of 50k too. Gross. If I am spending 50k on a SUV I can tell you 100% it won't be a Dodge Hornet.

  18. Not to mention $170 million isn't really that much-Ford is investing roughly that in multiple subassembly plants (engines/transmission) with the new UAW contract.
  19. Just throw a newer f350 type bodystyle and interior but make it a suv and call it a day
  20. Seems short sighted based on sales which have been steadily declining.
  21. Nobody thought it was sustainable once inventory levels returned to normal. Just a question of how long it would take and how much of the Inflation was permanent. But you can’t blame them for milking that cow while it lasted.
  22. It reminds me of that poll I did way back on FIN when that site was a thing asking if Lincoln should get Ford's latest and greatest tech first and most people voted No it should debut on Ford first and trickle up to Lincoln. To me it makes no sense with every other car company that has a luxury brand debuts new tech on their luxury brand first before the mainstream models get it. Example: Lexus first then Toyota, Cadillac first then Chevy, etc. For some reason I really think Ford has this NEED to have the Ford name get stuff first because it's the family name and Lincoln comes secondary to them. Well Nautilus got coast to coast screen and there's no Ford counterpart yet. It's not complaining for the sake of complaining it's about setting a president and giving Lincoln a bone which they desperately need. Materials and aesthetic isn't enough to justify the huge jump in price from an Expedition to a Navigator. You need to give them a reason to consider one.
