  2. The regen is automatic, and so far I haven't needed to figure out how to try and force one. It just happens; if you stop at a red light while its happening you'll definitely know if your nose works at all. I'll stop, get a wiff of something dark and acrid, and go to this screen you pasted and I can watch the exhaust filter % drop by 5's until it's at 0. As for the DEF, I doubt you'll make it to 7500 before needing a refill, or at least getting a warning. You'll definitely know when it's time to refill -- you get a pop-up and idiot light when you have 500 estimated miles remaining. I was at 2380 miles when I needed my first DEF refill (and I had around 25% or less remaining, the truck was giving me warnings every 20 miles or so). It cost me $24 for 6 gallons at a truck stop for that first fill up. I tow over a mountain pass though and my understanding is DEF usage depends on how strenuously the engine is working.
  3. I of course cannot say if it will void warranty or not, the dealer (and yourself) have the capability of restoring the modules back to "as built". It's pretty poor engineering to have a configuration setting that could damage the system, and this change is simply a configuration setting. The main argument I can see for voiding warranty is if you use forscan incorrectly and fry a module; you'll definitely be on your own for that. That said, there are a million videos on how to use forescan to get comfortable doing it correctly, and this change was a gamechanger. Having the turn-by-turn on the HUD while towing lets me keep my eyes on the road & mirrors more often. I can't imagine why Ford disabled it by default -- but they did NOT remove it, they just flipped a switch.
  4. Actually, it's a very common Dutch name, especially here in Michigan. Hence why we have a Holland, MI. If you drive through there you can count numerous "Dykstra _____" businesses. No relation though, most of our family stayed in Michigan or close to it.
  5. Obviously, swinging Brampton plant to build next generation of EV chargers is a bad idea! New styling makes vehicles look 50 years old. What was needed was a Charger hybrid and maybe a Chrysler 300 hybrid but not the parallel hybrid system on the Ram pickup! Is Stalantus loosing its way being managed by the French? edselford
  6. You are thinking! Maybe a Atkinson cycle I6 that is turbocharged and is a hybrid would be the way to go? Make up the power loss with the turbo but utilize the hybrid for unloaded accelerations? edselford
  7. Well, well, well… Wonders never cease. the wife snapped this pic from behind the dealership this evening. I’m heading back into town now to confirm the VIN. I still won’t believe it until I see it.
  8. Yesterday
  9. I lived a couple blocks from a Dykstra family in Maplewood MN (suburb of St Paul). They had three girls who would be 75 -80 years old now. Grandma? Aunts? Not a common surname.
  10. Coolant intrusion was more prevalent on 2016-18 1.5L EB fours used in the Escape. I was on an Escape forum before and during my 2018 ownership, and there were few reports of problems with the 2.0 in that car. There was a modification done to the block deck between #2 & 3 cylinders. It seemed to affect the Cleveland blocks more that than the Valencia blocks ; My 2018 had a Changan sticker on the block! I had no problems with mine, but I sold it to Caravan and ordered my 2021 Ranger, which I've had a seatbelt & headrest (supercabs only) recall and a trans. TSB for rough shifting done and so far satisfied. I am hoping that the glacially slow rollout of the 2024 Ranger is to ensure that the trucks are as defect free as can be accomplished coming off the line.
  11. First diesel and still learning the truck but love it so far. Slight anxiety about the regeneration and DEF until I truly figure it out….hoping for some helpful info. Diesel Maintenance shows the following pic. Trying to understand the regen exhaust filter percentage and DEF percentage numbers on when there needs to be a refill or regen cycle. Also, I was told DEF usually gets refilled at oil change time around 7500 miles. thanks in advance! ben
  12. We'll see how adventurous I get with it haha. 2018 would also be a good reference point with Navigator's redesign, but that would be 25 quarters lol....
  13. Just stop. You’re the one obsessed with maximum efficiency. You claim you aren’t but that’s all you post about. Consumers have proven without a doubt they’re willing to forego some efficiency and pay a little more for more utility and boxier styling. To claim otherwise is silly which is why you get pushback on those statements. It’s borderline trolling. So knock it off.
  14. And now you're using personal attacks to get your point across? Knock it off!
  15. It is hilarious that you and a couple of others have convinced yourselves that when others don’t agree with you it must be because they don’t understand your point, rather than they simply think your ideas, information or conclusions are just wrong. You’re not so brilliant I can’t understand what you write; I often just disagree with your point of view because I think you’re wrong. Every single time I think you have changed and become more professional based on latest posts, and I risk communicating directly with you by responding, I end up regretting it. You can not help yourself from adding offensive, insulting and unnecessary language with sole purpose of being disrespectful. And it’s not just with me, you do it to others as well. Why in the world you would do that is the only thing that goes over my head. It makes no sense, especially since you are a moderator and should behave at a higher level.
  16. And us Mustang Mach-E owners are left out in the cold. Like it or not, I still call it my Mustang. Well, not mine since it's my wife's. She does let me drive it to church on the weekends though...
  17. Considering that Ford marked the Mustang's 60th Anniversary yesterday, it would please a lot of Mustang retail order customers if Ford finally set up a delivery center at Flat Rock for retail order customers, along with plant tours. After all, Chevrolet's been doing it for Corvette customers for years at the Corvette Plant in Bowling Green. Unfortunately, the Flat Rock plant's long-term status has remained in limbo for many years due to numerous factors.
  18. This morning's gas prices in Hamden, CT (New Haven) $3.67 Regular (Cash) @ Hamden Gulf $3.69 Regular (Cash) @ Hamden, Citgo
  19. I see what I said went completely over your head-people will not buy a sedan type vehicle (as borne out by sedan sales in the general market) due to the perceived improvement a two box vehicle gives them when it comes to having a more flexible vehicle that can do more (since it has more interior space) then a sedan. The increase in MPGs or Range isn't worth it to the consumer, they rather have a Swiss army knife of a vehicle then be boxed in to a sedan/hatchback shape, because vehicles are more expensive and people are keeping them longer. If a two box shape only impacts range 10-20% overall vs a sedan fastback shape, people will give up that additional range, even more so if charging is almost as easy as stopping at a gas station with longer wait.
  20. The point I was trying to make is ICE loses a lot more power through rotational/parasitic losses then an EV drive train does.
  21. Ford Mustang Experience Center Officially Revealed https://fordauthority.com/2024/04/ford-mustang-experience-center-officially-revealed/ Ford has been rapidly expanding its list of post-purchase experiences as of late, opening up the Bronco Off-Roadeo to the general public and those that buy used models, adding the new Ford Ranger Raptor Assault School and the Ford Mustang Dark Horse Track Attack Experience, and opening a brand new Ford Performance Racing School location in Tooele, Utah, which will serve as the base of operations for the outfit’s off-road driving programs in that area. Now, as part of the ongoing Mustang 60th anniversary celebration, The Blue Oval has revealed the new Ford Mustang Experience Center, too. The Ford Mustang Experience Center is currently set to open next year at Charlotte Motor Speedway in North Carolina, and is designed to become the prime destination for all things pony car. That means fans will be able to hit the track, purchase merchandise, or just soak in the long and illustrious history of the iconic Mustang in general. This particular venue adds to the recently-announced the Ford Mustang Unleashed Tour, which will provide fans in select U.S. cities with the opportunity to soak in some hot laps, line lock demos, and check out various pony cars up close as well. “Mustang has always been about more than just the car; it’s the experiences that come with it, from road trips to track days to cars & coffee,” said Matt Simpson, Ford Enthusiast Vehicles general manager. “Mustang Experience Center is poised to become a special gathering place for the Mustang community, weaving the spirit of the car and Charlotte Motor Speedway together to create new memories.” “The addition of the Mustang Experience Center is also driving an expansion of hands-on track instruction at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Ford Performance Racing School’s Mustang Unleashed, a new program for Mustang EcoBoost and GT, builds on the Dark Horse Track Attack program so all 2024 Mustang owners can learn how to get the most fun and performance out of their cars.”
  22. Maybe a year just to see if Navigator was holding steady or not. I appreciate it!
