Also of interest in the video is what the Mecum representative states ahead of the bidding commencement. The Judge did rule in Mecums favor, that we could sell this car. And if Ford wanted it back, they were welcome to come here and bid on it. So this is a publicly legal sale of a Ford GT. We had some people worried there was gonna be some repercussions, theres no repercussions with this car. It was contested in court, you bid on it, you buy it, its yours. Its America, you can buy and sell what you want!

Note that they only said that Mecum was allowed to sell it. They didn’t say whether Ford has legal recourse against the original owner.

Maybe the Cena case has pointed out a big loophole in Ford’s contract and it’s not really enforceable.

I have a feeling there will be several lawsuits until this gets settled.

Not sure if this is true or not, but what if the original owner died? Some folks are speculating that is what occurred. If Ford does nothing, then it would be plausible. They could also have run into a really good attorney (shrugs)?

I think that’s a more plausible scenario.

I was there on Friday. Could not believe how many Boss 429 Mustangs went across the block. Makes me sick to see the prices knowing I actually had a Black Jade Boss 429 back in the mid 70s. I assume I am probably one of the few people who can say that the very first car I had my name on the title of was a Boss 429 Mustang. Unfortunately, the only part I have left from that car is the oil cooler. LOL.

I have the keys of my first one, and I have the fake gas cap medallion of my 2005 which I had the body shop rip off the trunk and give it to me when we were sure the insurance company would total it.
