Glord13
Hi everyone, I've just joined the forums. I'm a retired Ford employee, just enjoying life now..lol I was hoping to find some info on my order for a 2018 Mustang GT premium I ordered 3/12/18 and the dealer gave me the VIN a few days later. Does this mean that my car will be built? and is there anyway to get updates on it's progress? Dealer said sometime in June. VIN 1FA6P8CF9J5171666 Edited May 7, 2018 by Glord13

fuzzymoomoo
If you have a VIN, that means it has been scheduled for production. Ill check the date for you this evening if someone doesnt beat me to it.

Glord13
OK , I've been checking around and found COTUS. It's says 6/13 geeez vin ends in 666 delivery is 6/13... I better be real careful So is COTUS accurate ?, some have said it can be flaky. Edited May 7, 2018 by Glord13
akirby
It is sometimes accurate, sometimes not. It was accurate on my friends Mustang which is scheduled the same week.
Glord13
Oh well, I was hoping for sooner. WOW 3 months total.. I ordered my 2011 new and it was less than 6 weeks, things have changed since then, apparently not for the better. wonder why it takes so much longer now.. I know, it's because I retired, I knew things would go to hell.. Edited May 7, 2018 by Glord13
akirby
I told my buddy there must have been some kind of material hold on mustang GTs. 10 weeks is a lot longer than normal.
Glord13
Guess all I can do is wait it out, Thing is, I still love my 11. It could be worse, I could have an old Camaro… yikes Thanks guys.
ALLSTOCK
cotus seems to be reliably unreliable. Consistently inconsistent.
fuzzymoomoo
Scheduled to Day (2018-05-31) ETA June 7-13
Glord13
Thanks for finding that info, so I guess cotus is about right. The wait continues...….. Edited May 8, 2018 by Glord13
Glord13
Well cotus just changed from "in ordering process" to "in production". The estimated time of delivery is still 6-13 . Window sticker tab is there, but not yet available to see. I'm just happy to finally see movement..!!
Glord13
My car was built yesterday as fuzzymoomoo said it would be. It's awaiting shipping. It's a convoy from Flat Rock to my dealer, so it shouldn't be much longer. Thanks everyone, can't wait to get my hands on Lucifer.. Glord13
Scheduled to Day (2018-05-31) ETA June 7-13 Cotus had my delivery as 6/9 and I had a chat with Ford Performance chat, he said 6/3-6/9. Car hasn't arrived, COTUS doesn't show an ETA now. I'm hoping fuzzymoomoo is right, maybe by 6/13. Damn car is 40 miles from Flat Rock to my dealer, less than a hour away...… uggg, Edited June 10, 2018 by Glord13
fuzzymoomoo
The Flat Rock plant is notorious for shipping delays and nobody really seems to know why
Glord13
I could see if it was on a train, but just trucking it , that's sad..... Thanks fuzzy.........
Glord13
I just wanted to update. Since Ford missed my original EDD I don't have a new EDD yet. I talked to the dearler and he doesn't have a new date either. They are supposidly getting thier regional rep involved. I told them if not by the end of next week to cancel. This is BS. Glord13
Thanks, ice-capades. I wanted to thank fuzzymoomoo too. The wait can be gut wrenching, but when you finally get it......
ice-capades
Thanks, ice-capades. I wanted to thank fuzzymoomoo too. The wait can be gut wrenching, but when you finally get it...... That blue paint really looks great but our Dealer Principal and General Manager keep wanting me to order Mustang convertibles in Ruby Red. I'm still trying to convince them that the Velocity Blue is a more attractive choice!
