Mustang-World's Best Selling Sports Coupe

Recommended Posts

Since January 2016, Ford has sold over 17,000 Mustangs in Australia, over 85% of them are GTs

The RHD GT Mustang is based on the '16/'17 Premium GT model and retails for AUS$65K (USD$47K)

remembering that MY18 RHD has not begun production yet...

Not true. They have been building them for some time now. Even a few RHD Bullitt variants.

I'm told that we don't get ours until Q3...

If the plant is still building one in ten as a RHD it may take them longer to build up deliveries for shipping

direct quote from my friend who works at FRAP when asked how long theyve been building them:

Maybe couple to a few months. With the occasional large gap. That could last a day to several days. No more than a week though

He literally texted that to me less than 10 minutes ago

Thanks so much for the update.:)

Sounds like they are taking their time to get things right instead of just punching them through,

lots of funny little difference that probably make them a bit more finiky to get right..

How much over sticker is that 1 going to end up going for?

As a friend of mine who owned a retail shop once told me, what he paid for the item doesn't matter when it comes to pricing it, it's what it'll cost him to buy its replacement. If you can't replace an item once you've sold it, why shouldn't you try to get as much money out of it as you can?

Or look at it another way - if they sold it at MSRP then somebody would buy it and turn right around and sell it for $10K more. So why shouldn't the dealer get the $10K if that's what the market demands?

I understand why people don't like it but I guarantee 99% would do exactly the same thing if the were in that circumstance regardless of what they say they would do.

Bingo!

We have about 6 tandem loads of topsoil left from when we built our house 4 years ago, and it's sitting in a pile about halfway between our house and the road (we have a 1/4 mile driveway). I've had numerous calls to sell it and I won't because I know what I could sell it for is about half what it would cost me to replace it due to trucking costs. So, I'm just keeping it and using it for landscaping here and there, and sharing with my neighbor (my niece and nephew-in-law). I didn't pay anything for it really, but why sell it for half what it would cost to replace it? The plan is to just move it out of sight so people quit calling. :)

just got the numbers for our Bullitt allocation...grand total of 1 for the year.

Just found out this morning that our dealership will be allocated (1) 2019 Mustang Bullitt. We're one of five dealerships out of the twelve in our zone to get a Bullitt. The selling price will be MSRP + $10,000 and we've already had one prospect contact us specifically about the Bullitt. And now the wait starts for the allocation and scheduling. Our 2018 Shelby GT350 is finally in the plant now and should arrive in about 3 weeks, if it gets released and shipped on time!

heres my take on addendums...A) its stops speculators buying the cars and flipping them to overseas markets FOR what dealers ask for....so why shouldnt the dealer, with their overheads do the same? B) get back to me when you sell your used car and take a ridiculous offer from someone above what market value is because someone REALLY wants it C) would you sell your own house at appraised value if someone was willing to pay you 20k more?....its always ironic when the shoes on the other foot...I dont condone addendums, they happen and i understand why....

In Australia it's now illegal to parallel import GT350 and convert it to RHD

So any new HP models you get that Ford doesn't choose to make in RHD are locked out of our market.

Even if we could the cost after conversion and all import, GST and luxury tax would make it double the price

of the Premium GT Mustang in RHD. Not many people would line up for a $130K Mustang.....

Our dealership took a $10,000 deposit yesterday for our 2019 Mustang Bullitt. The customer is paying $10,000 over MSRP. I placed the order this morning and the customer knows that he may not get the car for 6+ months depending on when Ford generates the scheduling allocation that we've been promised.

wow...for that money if I was a buyer Id most likely get a GT350....LOVE that car

The Shelby is a great performance car but not a good daily driver. For the money I'll take a loaded GT Premium any day... a lot more car for a lot less money in my opinion. But if someone wants a Shelby and can afford it, good for them!
