MEW
So I just took delivery of my 2018 F250 last week, started to notice a raw gas smell when near the drivers door, looked around by gas tank etc. but after not finding anything crawled under and found the leak was where the lines attach from the tank and heads to the motor, there are green plastic clamps where they connect, one broken in half and leaking ever so slightly. If you smell gas look there first. I can't imagine why Ford would use a plastic attachment on a critical part location to secure fuel lines?? Especially considering they didn't hold up on a brand new truck!!! Shop just called and the entire line has to be replaced.......... YT90SC
They have been using plastic since Ford went to port fuel. You had an issue at assembly. It happens. I wouldn't be spooked by it that much.
akirby
Ask the first gen Edge owners who couldn’t drive their vehicles for up to 8 months waiting on a new gas tank because their metal tank corroded and started leaking whether they would prefer metal or plastic parts.
MEW
well this being my first Ford it just has left me pissed off but I'm just glad it didn't catch fire and be a total loss. It also came missing a fender molding so I'm not too stoked about Ford QC. BUT I love the truck so far minus all the drama and hassle the first week I own it. Ford CS is being helpful so far. Hopefully no more gremlins!! Edited March 24, 2018 by MEW
