Jqa1824
It looks good. And the extra standard features and trim level simplification should help.

pffan1990
I'm actually surprised here about two things. One is that the Fusion is apparently living on, at least in updated form for awhile. Another is that it is going to be revealed at the New York Auto Show next week, according to the article. However, on the NYIAS website under press conferences, it only lists Lincoln as having a press conference/reveal but no Ford is scheduled. Unless Ford just plans on parking the 2019 Fusion along with the 2018 Fords at the Ford display without any press coverage, there could be another Ford reveal along with Fusion. As for update, I think it looks nice. Fog lights are changed as with the grille which I don't recognize anywhere on the other trimlines currently. I like the simplication of options, powertrain, and everything. But I wonder why no mention on transmission at the moment but likely 8-speed.
akirby
Huge step forward on the options and trim. Let’s hope they continue doing this across the lineup.

silvrsvt
Rear bumper looks different also-I also wonder if the Sport model has been dropped?
rperez817
Huge step forward on the options and trim. Let’s hope they continue doing this across the lineup. Yes sir. Ford was smart to make Co-Pilot 360 features standard on all 2019 Fusion models, similar to what Toyota and Honda did with 2018 Camry and 2018 Accord. The battery upgrade for PHEV Fusion makes it more competitive with Prius Prime too.

akirby
I want to see the order guide before I make final judgment Going down to 36 variations means they’ve done some major package consolidation along with the standard safety stuff when you consider that’s across 4 different models. fuzzymoomoo
Going down to 36 variations means theyve done some major package consolidation along with the standard safety stuff when you consider thats across 4 different models. What Im most interested is how exactly those packages are put together. I want to see if they actually make sense now Edited March 21, 2018 by fuzzymoomoo
akirby
I think you’ll see moonroof and navigation and maybe an optional wheel on each model/trim and that’s about it. That alone would get you to 36 combinations. Maybe a cold weather package. S SE SE Hybrid SEL SEL Hybrid Titanium Titanium PHEV Titanium Hybrid And they could offer PHEV on SEL. That only leaves room for a couple of options per model.
jasonj80
With the Energi battery getting an increase in kilowatt size the PIH rebate will also go up a bit.

Trader 10
Ford’s press release mentions nothing about upgraded 4 cylinder engines or the 8 speed which is what the car really needs. No mention of how much prices will increase with the added safety features.

Yes sir, it looks like the same engines and transmissions will be used. This is where the non-hybrid 4-cylinder Fusions fall way short and are worst in class. pffan1990
The grill pattern is pretty close to the Expedition Platinum. I meant on the Fusion itself. I had not seen that offered on the Fusion as far as the mesh inserts. Elsewhere yes but not Fusion car.
pffan1990
Anyone thinks it's time to start up NYIAS thread to discuss what will happen/have happened so that all things NYIAS 2018 will be in that thread? I could start the thread but rather an admin do that. It's just that I'm trying to figure out if Ford has plans to actually have a reveal press conference? Nothing on the NYIAS website shows that Ford has any press show planned; just Lincoln that first press morning. Ford already releasing press info of the 2019 Fusion indicates they got something planned as reveal for the show unless they're just gonna park the Fusion along with the rest of their 2018 lineup with no press whatsoever. I know that Ford tends to use NYIAS for the Lincoln reveals but Ford has shown some things at NYIAS before such as the Mustang. I'd think that it would be a good opportunity to present the 2019 Shelby GT500 seeing how they already previewed the front, unless they don't want to distract the Aviator publicity. However, I just seen something on Facebook that caught my attention. Facebook has a feature called Story where you post a story as a status post which stays active for 24 hours before it gets self-destructed/deleted. Well Lincoln has been posting stories with different short clips. One is a wallet of some kind with info in it which I take to be clues. Other is a photo of an exotic location with a handwritten note. Then I see one that had been posted as of 6 hours ago at this time of a sedan! Only shows the back of it and then cuts on to the next part of the story as it shows the side. Appears to be current Continental to me which got me wondering why they are doing this as a Story as the days get closer to the Aviator reveal. I'm sure it's nothing but is interesting as it could be some kind of Easter Egg.

pffan1990
Available on the 2018 in the sport, platinum and energi modes Huh, never even noticed it. Probably because I liked the SE trim of Fusion over the years and never really noticed the upper lines.

Ford Division has been mostly sitting out the NY Auto Show these past few years ( in years prior thaey had some big debuts) letting Lincoln shine here, and while it’s possible they still might be added to the conference schedule, I doubt it. 351cid
Didn't mention the 2.0L EB. One reason the wife didn't move to an Escape was the 2.0L being used sparingly. She must have her power. Still no reason to get rid of our 2013 SE.
