EVCBOSS Posted March 6, 2018 Share Posted March 6, 2018 My first post in any forum, so I apologize if the format is incorrect or I have missed where this topic is covered. I have a 2014 Ford Fusion Hybrid and the interior lights do not work either as courtesy lamps or when trying to turn them on with their individual switches. When the door is opened, any time of day, none of the interior lights come on. When the trunk is opened, the light doesn't turn on. When the map or dome light switches are activated, nothing works, nor does the back lighting work on the switches in the overhead console. All fuses related to this circuit were checked and were functioning. I cannot find reliable wiring diagram to push much further. I followed the suggested work order, even replacing the dimmer/headlight/foglight switch assembly. Nothing different other than my wallet being lighter. See attached for what guide I was following. Using SnapOn scanner tool, I could see all door switches functioning correctly as well as the courtesy lights "ramping" on and off. The ECM seems to be giving the order, but nobody is listening. fordtech1 Posted March 6, 2018 Share Posted March 6, 2018 You cant use the 2010 fusion diagram or pinpoint test. Completely different vehicles. Have you disconnected the 12v battery for a few mins and tried again? The overhead console is a module that controls interior lights. fordtech1 Posted March 8, 2018 Share Posted March 8, 2018 You may have to. I have replaced a few a while back. Do you have access to a scan tool that will read codes from all Modules? EVCBOSS Posted March 8, 2018 Author Share Posted March 8, 2018 I did use a SnapOn scanner and found no code in the BCM. I could see the door switches "ramping" on and "ramping" as well as the trunk. When trying to use the buttons on the overhead, the code reader didn't "see" any activations. So the brain is telling the parts what to do, they're just not listening. Thank you again for the help. All the interior lights receive voltage from interior lamp relay in the BCM. The front lamp sends a message to rear lamp to activate through a LIN network. Can your scanner do on demand self test on BCM? That would command all the lights. If it had a short in the wiring, it would set a code. It should set a code if it is open circuit also. fordtech1 Posted March 8, 2018 Share Posted March 8, 2018 Work shop manual says disconnect front courtesy lamp and check for power on pin 11 green/violet wire when Door is open.
