Doctorg23
First post here! Super excited to join this group!! We just ordered a black label Navigator with all the bells and whistles. We are getting the Chalet (white) interior. Exterior color choice was tough. We have always had white SUVs, but my wife really wants a black one this time. I agree it looks sharp with the black label rims. However, maintenance of black cars aside, does anyone else feel like whenever Im driving it people will think Im a chauffeur?? :-) I fell like most black Navigators, Escalades, etc are used by car services. Thank you!
akirby
I see tons of black SUVs around here and most are personally driven. If you like black and you understand the maintenance issues, go for it.
tbone
My vote is black. Thats what we always buy. Granted they are tougher to maintain but they look so good when clean.
akirby
but they look so good when clean. You mean for the 10 minutes it takes to drive home from the car wash? Love my Magnetic F150 but it’s almost as bad as Black for showing dirt.
NYGFan1
Black Gators around here are all driving to The airport.

Does it look like a bright blue during the daytime? Haven't seen that many in the wild around here.
Doctorg23
Certainly frustrating that we can't get the dark grey in the black label. That's the color we actually love. . . Not sure why you can't get the grey with BL?

tbone
Black Gators around here are all driving to The airport. That may be the case the last gen Navigator, but I think that will be less so moving forward with the price point the Navigator is at with the new generation.
Doctorg23
did anyone post this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9QVTkIMQuoo That is amazing!!!
tbone
That Nav in the video is badass. I would have preferred matte black but I would absolutely take that. I hope Lincoln comes out with a factory blacked out pacakage to eliminate the chrome.

I love to see numbers to back up specific arguments. We looked at the available colors and quite frankly it is still down to the black or white. I wonder if the above data applies to Navigators as well.
boredinbirmingham
The wrapped Navigator looks so good, even the blacked out wheels look good with this color combo. I need to get on the red calipers asap, that looks great as well. Are they just powder coating on stock calipers or total replacement?

Seeing this makes me glad I got Ingot Silver, I like being in a minority when it comes to car color.
slumlord
I did the Magnetic grey. I can't do Black or white in any cars ever again. Too hard to keep clean and scratch free. Although I will probably clearbra the Navigator I have to keep it outside.

Haven't seen that many in the wild around here. Unfortunately the black label is not available in the grey...agree with that choice though!! Yeah, it's annoying that Black Label vehicles have a narrow selection of paint colors available. I had a black car once......once. Never again, I also agree that Magnetic would be a great color. Now I saw Rhapsody Blue in sunlight, and I thought the color really popped, nice and bright. It's not a 'Pearl' paint though, which would have made it even better. My Black Label order is in, Rhapsody Blue, but it is an MKZ, not the Navigator.
2b2
just looked at the OG's... ...shouldn't the non[BL] Navi in Rhapsody have the Slate interior available? or is that just to make the [YatchClub] that much more exclusive? & for anyone who has seen [Destination] in person, would it really clash with Rhapsody &or ChromaCrystalBlue? what about ChromaMoltenGold?? Aside from frequent car washes, what hurt the most? Thanks!
fuzzymoomoo
My personal opinion, the Navigator looks its worst in Black for some reason. Cant quite put my finger on why.
akirby
Why do you say “never” for the black? Aside from frequent car washes, what hurt the most? Thanks! Black shows every speck of dust and even the tiniest swirl marks. It's more than just more frequent washes to keep it looking right.
fordmantpw
Black shows every speck of dust and even the tiniest swirl marks. It's more than just more frequent washes to keep it looking right. It's a full time job to keep a black vehicle looking right. The tuxedo black wasn't as bad since it had metallic flake in it, and had they kept that, I would likely have that on my Super Duty. But non-metallic is a b$(%*!
slumlord
I had a friend who got a Black Nissan GTR and he clear wrapped the whole thing. That will help with the swirl and scratches. Still shows dirt but if I ever got another black vehicle (my 05 Excursion that I am replacing was black) I would wrap it for sure. But first I would pick any other color. Black looks great but just too hard to maintain and I am too picky. Just my 2 cents not that anyone cares
