RiverRat87
I got my vin a few weeks ago and was curious when its scheduled to be built and delivered. I tried COTUS but it wasn't working. Thank you in advance. This is my first diesel but not my first for truck. 1FT8W3BT0JEB82149

tbashin
My truck finally showed up on March 9th. Sticker date is Dec. 17th. It had over 100 miles on it!! WTF??
akirby
The plant allows good employees to take random trucks home for the weekend. It’s part of the new union contract and helps spot check quality control.

akirby
BTW I was just joking. They don’t actually take the trucks home.
tbashin
Quality Check? Well I guess that's a good thing. What all is involved that takes driving 100 miles?
akirby
They just take random trucks out for an extended test drive and check all the features and options and ride quality, noise, etc. They usually put a sign on the vehicle stating this. Check the glovebox/owner’s manual/window sticker.

tbashin
I was at the dealer yesterday picking up my plates and the manager told me that they quit taking orders for 2018 Super Duties. Said Ford had a short run of the 2018's and wont be making anymore once orders are filled. He said he didn't know why. Whats up with that? Are they changing something for 2019?
akirby
It’s just the normal model year changeover. There is a cutoff date for 2018 orders but you can wait a bit and order a 2019.

tbashin
Why have they stopped taking 2018 Super Duty orders. I tried to order a F350 dually for work and the dealer told me we had to wait for 2019s. Said they arent making anymore 2018s after current orders are filled. Why?
