Jaxon Farms
Hello everyone... I'm a newby, and I posted the below question on the welcome page lol, I figured it out after a little while. I couldn't figure out how to delete that post, so I just copied and pasted my question below. If anyone can help that would be great! I owned a 2008 F250 Diesel for 7 years, best truck I've ever owned. I went to the dark side for 2 years (2016 GMC Denali HD) Man I missed my ford cab room and other features... so I'm back. My question is - After I drive my truck and park it, sometimes I leave it running for a while if its extremely cold or hot. I've noticed that a pop up comes on the screen and says "your engine is running" and then after several minutes the truck cuts itself off.... Is there a way to override this so that I can be in control of when I want to shut it off? Thank You!!
YT90SC
You have a couple options. 1. Make the truck think it has a PTO engaged. or 2. aftermarket programming. Beyond that, no, its all part of the clean idle strategy that is mandated by the EPA. All new diesels will do this eventually, if they don't already.
ajcomputer
There might be an option in the instrument cluster called something like "auto engine shutoff". Downside is this option has to be selected every key cycle if you want it all the time.
