The only way to "transfer" is if there's an opening and if your plant has to many heads. Then they post it at your location and you sign up. Just because you sign up don't mean your going, it goes by seniority

Thank you for replying....So theres no way I cant find out about openings? or do I have to wait on them to post? Im at dearborn rouge and the rumor here is once your here your here.

Why do you want to leave the rouge? You'll never be hurting for work there, that's their baby.

True....im really want to see what my options are within the company to see if I can go else where, a chance to relocate but stay within the ford family. Im curious about moving outta state as well my wife had been wanted to but with me being at ford I told her if I cant stay within ford were're not moving

It's hard to leave the Rouge, but not impossible. Because all the separate plants are the same local, usually when one plant has too many people, other plants are adding. You also have to deal with the fact that most of the people on site are from other plants with recall rights.

What plant are you at, exactly?

Nobody can transfer into parts distribution (HVCs, HCCs and the LVLC) anymore unless youre on the in-plant recall list or eligible for return to basic unit. Ive worked in them for nearly 20 years. Check out 403C in the last contract. Ford wants all us PDC employees to transfer to assembly. We have postings quite often for nearly any assembly openings.

O wow thank you for that info....its also hard to find openings per the website for assembly as well tho and only reason I was asking for the HVC is there locations of relocating to. I would look into the assembly if i could see the openings

Ahhh. The Dump. They just put a lot of money into that plant. I was in there about a year ago about when they were installing the latest hydroform line. Heard things on the production side were good since the lady LL6 went back to Woodhaven.

Good luck. Parts plants are gravy compared to assembly, and DDMP is tough to get out of since they are always adding work.
