silvrsvt
Random, but the posts about dealers and sales and whatnot made me think of him - haven't seen Deanh around in a while. You still out there? I saw a post from him in the past week or two...
akirby
He posts every once in a while, then disappears again. Like a ninja.......
rmc523
I saw a post from him in the past week or two... Hmm, must've missed it! It's always interesting to see things from a sales guy/dealer's perspective (I know icecapades is too).

The title was something like 'GM sells more trucks than Ford for November.' The headline didn't mention that it included 4 lines: Silverado, Sierra, Canyon and Colorado. Obviously, Ford is kicking it for the year!
tbone
By no means am I justifying poor refreshes of Fords car line, but all of those companies with perceived competence in developing cars would kill to have the F Series in their portfolio at the expense of some of those sedans.

Just think about the difference in costs between essentially 6 different trucks for GM (Silvererra normal and heavy duty, Canyorado) vs 2 for Ford (F150, SD) and the higher revenue of F-Series vs. Canyorado (and probably higher ATPs than Silvererra) and it's not difficult to see who's winning the truck wars. GM still is winning the large SUV front but new Navy and Expy are going to cut into that as well.
MKX1960
Looking at stuff like this makes me wonder how much the Ranger and Bronco will impact other Ford product sales Around here, smaller truckers are very popular. Landscapers, pool service companies, painters etc usually don't have full size trucks. If they built a Ranger Limited, I might be interested in something like that.

rperez817
What are 'commercial truck" sales for Chevy, anyway? Chevrolet LCF and City Express. In September 2016, GM combined sales numbers of these two vehicle models into a single entry labeled 'Commercial Truck'. They do not indicate the relative proportions of LCF and City Express sales. I readily agree that GM clears out on Full Sized Utility sales compared to Ford and while the Super Duty keeps selling so strongly, I can't seemuch improvement in either Expedition or Navigator sales ...I could be wrong but the production volume is pretty high there at the moment.... Hang on, City Express is a Van, are we now to include Transit and Transit Connect sales? Because E Series (49,393) and Transit (114,980) and Transit Connect (30,500) sure add up to a lot more "Trucks"....
