Soulshine10
I have a 2010 Mercury Milan premier which has begun having what feels like rough downshifting/up-shifting issues. Each time it happened The "wrench indicator light " has come on.. It has only occurred at low speeds (in town driving). highway OK. I can reset the light and problem by placing in park and restarting. I own the car and would like to keep it but only if I'm not going to get hit with a large bill. otherwise thinking of trading in. don't want to sell private as I don't want to saddle someone with a car with a big problem. Any insights/recommendations would be appreciated Edited October 24, 2017 by Soulshine10
fordtech1
The wrench light is indicative of a throttle body issue. It could be not transmission at all. It could be a mass air sensor issue or wire pinched issue. I would at least pay for a diagnosis.
Soulshine10
Thank You Fordtech1. I will get the diagnostic. question, do you recommend I take it to a dealer or go to an aftermarket repair shop.
fordtech1
Thank You Fordtech1. Sometimes it requires factory equipment to find intermittent faults. Most independent places I've dealt with are great at replacement but not as good with fault diagnosis unless it's obvious.Make sure they document the codes for you.
