bigcody91
This is my first post and I hope someone can help me out. I'm looking for the a tube/line that connects to the canister and goes towards the front of the car. I believe its a vapor line. We ran over a 2x4 and it put a kink in the tube and threw an engine light the next day. I cant find a part number and ford dealership was no help. It is black tube about 3/8" thick with writing on it that reads "Non-Repairable LoPerm 4000A EVOH FoMoCo B215". If anyone can help out it would be greatly appreciated. twintornados
I would check the local "U-Pull it" yards for a replacement - fordtech1 should shed some light on this for order/repairs...
fordtech1
If you can upload a picture maybe I can help with an alternative repair. However, I believe the lines are bundled together with fuel lines. The base part number for the assembly is 9s284. You can go to ford parts.com and look up that part number and it will give you a picture to make sure that's what you need. The assembly lists for $311.
bigcody91
This is the tube. It says on it non-repairable but I am attempted to cut out the kink in the hose and slip over a larger tube with a two hose clamps on each end. Any reason I cant do this? fordtech1
You can do that. But you need to use fuel hose. That hose carries fuel vapor and regular vacuum hose with deteriorate quickly. If you could find a fitting that would go inside the plastic line then the hose can clamp on to that fitting to make sure you don't have evap leak and cause a check engine light. Ideally a tight press in nipple would be great.
fordtech1
If there is enough slack in the line you could cut the bad out and use something like this. https://www.dormanproducts.com/p-50909-800-193.aspx?origin=keyword
