Breaking: I saw an ad

We rag on this car, because of its dual-clutch transmission issues, but this thing can be a blast to drive. We spent most of last week in Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula (juts out into Lake Superior). Think twisty, up and down, roads. I hammered our 2012 SEL around the corners and this thing sticks to the road like it has glue on its tires. Plus, the dual-clutch tranny (nearing 80,000 miles) worked flawlessly.

Also, on the way back we stopped at a waterfall where I noticed a dark-grey Focus RS in the parking lot with manufacturer’s plates. Mind you, we’re about 600 miles from Dearborn. I walked over to talk to the driver who was an engineer from Ford. He was recruiting new engineers at Michigan Tech University in Houghton, Michigan (Tech is a great engineering school). He took along the RS to show the students.

BTW, I averaged 39 miles/ gallon over 1,000+ miles.
