Itsy
I recently bought a 2007 Ford edge the driver and passenger seats were pretty worn out so I bought some used replacements. I thought it would be an easy swap but apparently it's turning out to be a big problem. The drivers seat goes in fine but the passenger seat for some reason triggers the anti theft system and all my warning lights come one. Is there any reason for this to happen, someone told me it was because the seats came off a salvage vehicle and my vehicle automatically locks itself because of it. Is there anything I can do? MKX1960
The dealer may need to do a reset. I had a truck that I was going to Dynamat the floor, but discovered the controls for the air bag were under the passenger seat and was advised to not disturb them, so I decided to leave it alone. fordtech1
Sounds like a can network issue. Chances are the wiring from the donor seat isn't the same. There is HS CAN network wiring going to OCSM under the passenger seat. Best option is to swap seat covers or at least the harness to old seat. Technically after that seat is removed a zeroing of the OCSM is needed. Otherwise, just an airbag light should come on. Not an entire cluster and a no start. In a nut shell the passenger seat harness/module isn't compatible.
