Aviator
I recently purchased a pre owned 2010 Ford Edge Limited. The instruments, (speedo, tach, temp, fuel) are so poorly lit, they are very difficult to read at night. Yes, the rheostat is turned up all the way. I would like to check and replace as necessary the instrument light bulbs. Possibly with LED's. I removed the entire instrument cluster today, but did not see any bulbs/sockets on the back of the cluster. How do I access the instrument light bulbs? Are there LED's that will replace the original bulbs? Thanks for the help.
Aviator
I should have asked, "HOW DO I REPLACE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER LIGHTS?" Any help will be greatly appreciated.
MY93SHO
Don't have any history with that cluster but it may not have replaceable bulbs. You may have to have it repaired or exchanged for a reman unit. http://ddinstruments.com/auto-cluster-repair/?gclid=CjwKEAjwruPNBRCKkbL9zqKcrHwSJABGDVyIqGgt0gwk1Odkt5Zyuh9Y1gUh4CoE3oHz4PQGTzq1ZRoCJYzw_wcB
fordtech1
It's very possible the bulbs are soldered to the circuit board and like my93sho said not serviceable.b
Aviator
Thanks for the info. I've sent an email to D&D Instruments asking if the LED's can be replaced with a brighter or another color LED that would help illuminate the instrument numbers/letters at night.
