rmc523
I don't know why they bother mentioning the blue interior/leather when they don't show it. I've been waiting to see what it looks like.
akirby
I really like the new grille. That plus the new colors, engines and trannys have me rethinking that new Ranger I was going to wait on. If they continue the $5500 rebates on the 18s next year I might have to pull the trigger.

Not sure if that's the right word, but there seems to be more emphasis on the width with the horizontal bars, rather than the height of the current design. The 18 has a full surround around the grille whereas the 17 is open on the bottom. It makes the 18 front end appear shorter to me which I like as well as the extension of the headlights into the grille.

Thanks. It's hard to even tell it's blue in that picture with the lighting. EDIT: Upon reading the article, that's a black interior. ice-capades
Perhaps I'm one of the few but I was never really pleased with the current generation F-150 front end appearance. That said, I find the changes for the 2018MY F-150's to be a big improvement style and design wise. In particular, I like that there's more of a family resemblance between the F-150's and the Super Duty models.
Jqa1824
I'm with you. The 2009 & 2015 F-Series just seemed a lot clumsier in design (A-Pillar forward) than my two favorites, the 96/97 and the 2004 F-Series. This update really improves the look of this generation...in my opinion.
Ron W.
96/97 and 04 ? That's 3 different body styles, I'm confuserd.
Jqa1824
I always forget which model year the "aero" F-150 cane out, 96 or 97. Maybe it's because the '97 model year F-150s came out really early. Edited August 15, 2017 by Jqa1824
akirby
I think they ran them both for one year which is why it's confusing. Edit - never mind, that was the 2003 model that continued into 2004 alongside the new 2004 models. Aero started in 97. Edit - never mind, that was the 2003 model that continued into 2004 alongside the new 2004 models. Aero started in 97. It doesn't help that the F-250/350 continued the old body style through '97 (F-350) and '98 (F-250), along with producing a '97-'98 F-250 that shared the F-150's body style... Ford was a little nervous when they introduced the 97's and sold the square trucks right along with them as well. Edit to add...1997 F-150's were released starting in 1/96 as a 97 model, but the "classic" 1996 was built and sold along side until late 1996. PREMiERdrum
The unfinished boundary at the bottom of the upper grille was by far the clumsiest detail of the '15 design, and it's apparent here what a big difference such a small change made! tbone
I actually liked the 15 through 17 grill. I thought it gave it a chiseled look. The 18 grill is definitely softer in appearance, but I don't think it's bad.
akirby
I don't think it's softer at all - I think it's still just as chiseled but it looks more complete. The 15-17 looks like they forgot to finish the grille.
akirby
Especially in sport trim.
tbone
Clearly it's in the eye of the beholder, because I think that looks softer. I understand where people thought the bottom of the grill looked unresolved, but I liked it. As I said though, the 2018 still looks good, and there are a lot of grill options. Ron W.
In the "link" there's a Red F150 with the same grille set up, looks good.
