chenman
Hello BlueOval Forum: I purchased a new (37 miles) sold as new with complete new veh.warranty from Ford dealer who believe it or not has about 6 of these vehicles. I paid above book value but it is brand new, comp 2017 TC wagon xlt would be about 31K. in my area OK so my mechanical question is : A new vehicle that has sat for 3 years can I expect fluid seal & other mech issues do to non use ? I am a believer that issues occur with fluid mech assemblies (transaxles) thru non use. Any help or opinions would be appreciated. Thank you
tbone
Unfortunately I have no answers for your questions, but I wonder how a new vehicle like this sits around for 3 years unsold. That's bazaar to me. Congrats on the new purchase nonetheless!

Ask FCA, they apparently still had 14 Avengers lying around in July.
ice-capades
Our dealership still has (5) new 2016 Transit Connect Vans in stock that we couldn't sell for the longest time thanks to a Ford Delivery Hold/Recall. It took forever before parts were available. As a result we bought NO 2017 Transit Connects from Ford.
sullynd
Ask FCA, they apparently still had 14 Avengers lying around in July. The VW Dealer near the Ford store I go to has a new Routan parked as signage. When did they stop the Routan? 2014? I ate at a car themed restaurant last weekend ("Quacker Steak and Lube") that has a Prowler up on a lift. It looks like it may never have been driven (or at least not much). It left me wondering the same thing as the OP (though in this case it sat much longer)
chenman
Thanks to all who responded. I am doing the deal and hope for the best. I plan a lot initial mileage during the 36 months bump to bumper. If I new this dealer to be a solid citizen I would have him drain & replace all fluids now. However the quality of techs & service mgr are unknown, and I have owned vehicles that the beginning of problems started with the violation of the old adage IF NOT BROKEN DON't FIX.! Maybe I should be adding if unknown don't buy but $$ and risk come into my thinking positive of deal. Thanks again.
twintornados
If the vehicle fits your needs, roll with it and don"t worry about the fluids....you have a warranty...
