Over the assumed success of the Mustang in RHD markets Holden with GMs blessing allows HSV to have the Camaro ready in RHD by next year.

OMFG, they're going to convert LHD cars.......

Follow me on this,

The GT Mustang sold in Australia is a Factory RHD Premium GT... AUS $65,000 or USD $47,000 (+USD$10,000 on the US LHD car)

A US LHD 2SS Camaro costs $44,000 or AUS $60,000....... It's going to cost alot more than $10,000 per car to convert to RHD..

I just don't see this working out economically for Holden enthuiasts...

That circa-$88K price tag is a lot more than the $57,490 entry price of a Ford Mustang GT V8 coupe and about $33,000 more than the soon-to-be-defunct Commodore performance flagship, the SS-V Redline.

But this will be the cheapest V8 option on offer for GM fans post-October, after which the German-made Commodore line-up will be topped by a 235kW/381Nm V6 all-wheel drive model called the VXR.

IMO,

An ATS-L sourced from China converted to RHD and fitted with a 6.2 V8 would be a much closer fit for the intended buyer group.

I understand why GM is doing the Camaro but I suspect the sales depth for it will be nowhere as deep as the Factory RHD Mustang

the two supporter fan bases are completely different.

Or Australia could just allow LHD vehicles to be registered. I know I know... not going to happen but that's the solution that will solve Holden's problem.

They allow LHD in the UK but if you've ever driven the opposite hand drive in your home country, it's rather interesting

especially when the passenger tells you it's OK to pass the truck in front around a blind corner.....
