tbone
Either I forgot or was unaware they were developing an F150 for police use. Should be a good package for some departments. The Ford F-150 Police Responder pursuit-rated pickup is ready to hit the beat http://www.foxnews.com/auto/2017/07/20/ford-f-150-police-responder-pursuit-rated-pickup-is-ready-to-hit-beat.html
silvrsvt
Looks like Ford is positioning multiple products to replace the Taurus/Police Interceptor when it rumored to die after next year.
Bob Rosadini
Hope they offer something besides the Ecoboost. Not everyone needs 100MPH capability but many need rugged off road capability and /or towing capability. for example my small town has 2 Chargers and 3 Explorers. But FD (call department with one paid Mon-Fri guy) got a heavy Deere gator. We border a National wildlife refuge and they have already had one call where it pulled a guy out of the woods with a heart problem. The thing gets trailered and supposedly you can't put a proper rated hitch on an Explorer PI. This would be a good versatile vehicle-if it had a less costly engine option IMO. Oh solution to our problem? we are spending 20 g on a used 4 x 4 pick up- another hangar queen to use a few times a year. And running to town barn to pick up one of 3 F-550 4 x 4 dumps was ruled "impractical"
