'20 Bronco Rendered

Recommended Posts

The Roofline and windows look horrible from the C pillar back.

Overall I'll give it a 8.5 out of 10...it keeps the First Gen Bronco look and merges it with current F-series look.

Agreed, that window could be taller and more proportionate to the rest of them but overall I like it.

Looks good. I'll take mine with the 2.7 eco or 3.2 diesel in front of a 6 spd manual please.

Seriously though, I could see swapping a built 300 inline six into one of these in about 2030. The ultimate bronco engine if you ask me. And four doors on approximately the same wheel base as the 80-96 bronco would be a great compromise.

I think Ford would do good to just ignore overt retro and just build a capable offroader not beholden to Bronco styling from the 60's. Retro only lasts so long. Its one thing if your vehicle has been in production for 50 years with the same styling cues (Porsche / Mustang), but another where you are resurrecting a vehicle with styling harkening back 50 years.

That being said, this shows something I'd like. Clean lines, but not overly retro. Not so crazy about the front-end, but then again....this isn't the Bronco we'll be seeing in couple years anyway.

I don't think we'll see something like an exact copy retro, but there's no doubt it'll lean toward retro. And really, how else would you make it look? They could make some super modern looking thing, but would it really be a BRONCO if it didn't have some retro cues?

Thats why I think something like this render works...it hints that the Retro Bronco styling but it doesn't look out of place alongside the F-series.

IMO they'd do more damage to Bronco nameplate (and people's expectations) if just its a lightly restyled Everest.

You can go retro lite on this Bronco (have you seen what first gen Broncos are going for?!?) and modernize it as product cycles go by.

Lets not forget there were other Broncos separate then the ones sold in the 60s. They were still Broncos without looking like the original. I understand the new ones will most likely have cues, but I hope they go the overt retro route. Just not a fan.

I don't think they can...even the concept from years ago wasn't a complete retro trip. IMO a plain jane Bronco from the early 1970's wasn't anything to write home about stylistically.

Something like this:

Or like this:

Looks better then the stock look of this:

Even though that is pretty nice looking stock Bronco...but it looks better then it did rolling out of the factory. Seems like the bigger wheels help the car out tremendously looks wise.

Yeah, it better not be a lightly modified Everest. It would fail and not be worth the expenses to produce it.

The "big" Broncos looked like the F-Series trucks on which they were based. One of the interesting things about the first Broncos is that they really didn't look like anything else in the Ford stable at the time, so it would be somewhat ironic if the new Bronco looked like the original....
