HotRunrGuy
Ever since new, I've complained to multiple dealers that this vehicle was too loud inside, they kept blowing me off, telling me that's how AWD vehicles are. My Silverado and RAM pickups were noticeably quieter on the road that this Explorer was. Was being the key word. After 4 years and 36K miles, the left rear wheel bearing finally gave up the ghost, and $450 later, the truck is now as quiet as it should have been all along. What should have been replaced under warranty wasn't, because the dealers refused to evaluate it. Sorry, rant over. HRG
fordtech1
The bearings should have been covered under 5/60 powertrain.
MY93SHO
Good god, how many dealerships did you go to? A bad wheel bearing shouldn't be that hard to diag. I bet I alone price a least one a day. I would write a letter to each Service Manager/ Dealer Principal and let them know they really dropped the ball. Don't cuss, just point out this should have been an easy find and they really screwed up.
HotRunrGuy
The bearings should have been covered under 5/60 powertrain. Yeah, I see that now. Unfortunately, after being ignored during the first 3/36, I wasn't about to go and ask them to look at it again. HRG
